IT Application Support Analyst on Prime Services – Front office - Equity & Derivatives


SG CIB is the Corporate and Investment Banking arm of the Societe Generale Group. Present in over 50 countries across Europe, the Americas and Asia.SG CIB provides corporate, financial institutions, investors and public sector clients with value-added integrated financial solutions.

Part of our Global Production Service organization in charge of application support on trading platforms for our Agency / Prime Services business. Under the direct supervision of the regional production manager, engineers are working in shift rotation to provide 24/6 technical support for clients and internal traders.

Part of an Agile/Feature team model, the candidate will participate to some cross functional tasks within project delivery.


Main Responsibilities

  • Manage internal users' (traders) requests and incidents flows by gathering the information from the different communication channels (trading floor live interaction; mailboxes; phone; other). Delivery IT Support services relying on ITIL framework and core processes.
  • Provide a second line technical support for global trading platforms (ULLINK, FIDESSA, ORC, in-house applications).
  • Pro-active technical monitoring of systems by using the information system's monitoring tools (ITRS). Ensures that these tools are in line with our needs and takes initiatives to improve their efficiency.
  • Leads investigations and troubleshoot to resolve problems independently. Formalizes problems and escalates to the next level of support, ie external vendor or development team when need be.
  • Engage and improve the Follow-the-Sun model and leverage on our global setup working closely with our London and New York offices.
  • Estimates the risks and opportunities in our day to day job, and take initiatives to reduce the risks and improve our efficiency. Provides support to others peers when necessary and train the new joiners on the perimeter.
  • Design, co-ordinate, install and maintain vendor applications solutions and exchange gateways.
  • Manage and co-ordinate with vendor related issues and software deliveries. Coordinate internal testing and certification with various groups.
  • Learn and apply the Agile / Feature model (LeSS) model.


Requirement (Qualification/ Years of Experience/ Skill / Knowledge)

  • Strong problem solving and analytical capabilities
  • Good product knowledge of Equity & Derivatives and strong business background
  • Good client management and interpersonal skills
  • Capable of working under pressure and stress in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic knowledge SQL, Windows environments
  • Unix systems proficiency (Linux, Solaris) , scripting (Python, shell, …)
  • Good communication of English
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Knowledge of ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) is a plus
  • Knowledge on vendor applications (Ullink/FIX, Fidessa, ORC) would be preferred.
