Your role
Role Description
The Regional PEX Leader is a member of the Global PEX Leadership Team. He/she is the regional PEX representative in APAC and ensures that the PEX CoE delivers quantifiable effectiveness and efficiency benefits on all ongoing lean transformations supported by the PEX CoE. He/ she works closely with the Global Functional Leaders to shape, structure and deliver large, complex lean transformation programs. The Regional PEX Leader reports directly to the Head of the PEX CoE.

The main activities and responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
  • Build sustainable and strong links to other regional Hub key stakeholders and business leaders from CC-functions and Business Divisions to become our internal Hub clients' trusted business advisor
  • Identify and recruit local / regional talents and professionals in order to support all ongoing and planned Lean transformations in the Hub and make sure that local recruitment is aligned with the demand managed by the Global Functional PEX Leaders and Regional PEX Leaders
  • Manage and develop, on a day-to-day basis, the regional PEX team, including yearly and half-yearly performance reviews (act as “evaluation manager”)
  • Lead the structuring and set-up of PEX regional team and knowledge sharing events within the Hub to ensure roll-out of best practices and knowledge exchange
  • Act as a role model and coach Hub Delivery Leads on establishing continuous improvement based on the UBS PEX Way
  • Support identification and formulation of Hub improvement potentials tying into Global improvement initiatives based on the UBS PEX Way with full commitment of the relevant Hub stakeholders
  • Effectively implement and utilize the UBS PEX Way to guide regional Hub teams through tasks and activities to achieve highly productive, reliable, predictable and cost-effective solutions
  • Represent the PEX CoE in relevant regional governance bodies and internal or external events

  • Your team
    The PCBI team is a newly created team part of the Corporate Development & Performance organization and will serve UBS internal clients across the bank, supporting business divisions/functions/regions with project management capabilities and enhanced staff leverage to deliver on change/project work.

    PCBI will be a center of competence for (i) specific functional areas (e.g., project/change management, problem solving/solution space design, process optimization, etc.), and (ii) benchmark/survey/market intelligence (3rd party and internal). PCBI will also act as a talent incubator (identification/recruitment, development and retention) for UBS.

    The process excellence/optimization team acts as a center of competence for process (re-) design/optimization work across UBS with tools to deliver continuous front-to-back efficiency and lead lean transformations.

    Your experience and skills
    Role-specific Job Requirements
  • Very strong people management skills
  • Minimum of 10 years' line and/or project leadership experience
  • Demonstrated track record of achievements in large lean transformations and change programs
  • Strong presentation, networking and influencing skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Deep understanding of 5Lense methodology including Lean team-by-team and Value Stream Optimization (VSO) approaches and methods, or equivalent
  • Fluency in English both oral and written
  • Ability to travel at least 25%
