The Quality Assurance and Production Management (QAPM) division is responsible for the Testing, Assurance and Application Support for a range of custom Front, Middle and Back office applications used to support the business processes within Morgan Stanley.

Morgan Stanley Technology Disaster Recovery (TechDR) delivers a comprehensive governance, oversight and testing program to ensure Morgan Stanley technologies have appropriate resilience and recovery capabilities which satisfy firm, client and regulatory requirements.

You will lead a team of disaster recovery professionals who coordinate testing and assessment of external third parties globally. You will also participate in the enhancement and execution of testing and recovery planning strategies for

the group, supporting the firm's adherence to the best practice principles of Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery (BC/DR). As a member of the Global Technology Disaster Recovery team you will also be responsible for the advancement of the firms DR strategy in line with the requirement to move away from a reactive model to a proactive, production resilient model. You will be reporting to External Engagement Team Manager reports to the Technology Disaster Recovery External Engagement Global Manager (based in New York).

Primary responsibilities
- executing the external disaster recovery test program for critical suppliers and with key market suppliers, interfacing with both internal stakeholders and external contacts
- working closely with various Technology Engineering teams, Application Development, Business Continuity Management, Firm and Technology Risk, and the global Technology Disaster Recovery team to enhance and progress the Disaster Recovery Program
- managing through influence to deliver programs across multiple groups including both technology and business stakeholders
- reviewing existing technical and people recovery processes, internal and external, to ensure they are sound, while ensuring documentation meets regulatory and internal/external audit expectations
- providing consultative services regarding Disaster Recovery best practices to internal organizations


Qualifications:


Skills required
- 5-10 years professional experience in technology, preferably at a large, multinational, technically complex firm
- People management experience, experience working in virtual teams across geographic boundaries
- Excellent Communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to convey complex technical strategies and plans to a wide audience from technician to senior business and technology management
- Strong relationship-building and influencing skills with the ability to be both a leader and a team player operating with tact and diplomacy
- Ability to remain calm and cool under unexpected circumstances and time critical pressure
- Ability to work within tight deadlines and a dynamic environment
- Strong capability with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)



Skills desired
- Familiarity with Service Continuity/Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity concepts
- DR, BCP, PMP or ITIL certifications
- Technical background in infrastructure operations/engineering
