Business Compliance Service Manager

The incumbent is required to review and carry out surveillance work on Corporate accounts (EmB) to manage the risks pertaining to anti-money laundering, counter-terrorism financing or economic and trade sanctions.

The Business Compliance Service Manager is expected to be accurate, thorough and detailed in his/her analysis of account transactions. When there is a transaction or event that poses a risk to the bank (whether reputational or potential breach of law, sanction of regulation) he/she is expected to identify the risk and recommend/take remedial action to mitigate the risk. He/she is required to complete the reviews in a timely manner before stipulated deadline.

The job scope of the Business Compliance Service Manager includes:
Ø Responsible to review telegraphic transactions or trade screening alerts thoroughly in a timely manner
Ø Assessment of name screening hits
Ø Perform transaction monitoring and sanctions review
Ø Review of the hits generated by monthly customer screening and connected persons
Ø File STRs, recommend relationship retention or termination, and track recommendations and account closures as required
Ø Liaise with customers on agent bank / customer screening queries on telegraphic transfer transactions
Ø Work closely with business users and project team members on problem resolution, project initiation, implementation and post implementation support
Ø Contribute to developing and ensuring a compliant culture within the business users
Ø Conduct research via available Bank systems and commercial databases as well as internet
Ø Perform investigation and relation to suspicious transactions
Ø Interface with relevant units and the business in regards to compliance reviews, investigation, as well as other ad-hoc projects
Ø Document review findings, ensure awareness of conclusions and prepare report of findings for Business Compliance and Management


Ø Degree holder or above with at least 2 to 3 years of relevant experience
Ø Knowledge of local regulatory guidelines, KYC/AML guidelines and good awareness of bank controls and operations risk
Ø Knowledge the use of World check / Factiva
Ø Proficiency in MS office applications
Ø Excellent analytical, written interpersonal, communication and written skills
Ø Strong documentation skills and the ability to articulate clearly
