Join the CIB Channels at Standard Chartered and become part of the technical team to grow innovation across CIB. This is an unique opportunity to be in at the start of something new in Standard Chartered Bank. You will use your talents in software development, application architecture, design thinking and problem solving to help create rapid prototypes and enable the rapid acceleration of ideas. You will work closely with our project team and business stakeholders, provide technical expertise that enables innovation.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

CIB Channels is a fast paced environment, with multiple projects running concurrently. The nature of work is varied, and spans from working with external vendors, brainstorming ideas with the business, building rapid prototypes, providing technical guidance on proposed solutions and suggesting alternatives. To be a trusted developer within CIB Channel, you will be expected to work closely with the wider team, and with business and technology stakeholders from all areas of the Bank, and be involved in at least two or three projects

  • Project and Programme Managers
  • Product Owners
  • Business Unit Heads across TB
  • Business COOs
  • Scrum Master
  • Developers/scrum team
  • Solution Architecture
Key Measurables:
  • Stakeholder feedback (Business and IT)
  • Delivery of individual tasks and overall projects on time and of a high quality
  • Quality of documentation
  • Ensuring projects pass internal audits and reviews
  • Ensuring successful go lives with minimal post go live issues
Post project implementation reviews and alignment of project deliverable to measurable exit criteria for projects

Qualifications and Skills

Technical Aptitude
  • This person will have developed code for several years using Agile methodologies, and will have proven experience as a Sprint member
  • Must be a self starter and be able to quickly grasp and understand a wide variety of software environments and solutions
  • Must have examples from several projects which demonstrate programming capability and experience; preferably in Javascript, Go, Java. Node.js experience is useful
  • Front end programming skills using modern JavaScript frameworks
  • iOS development would be an advantage
  • Comfortable using Windows and Linux
  • Working knowledge of AWS and of Docker
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or similar

Soft skills
  • Fluent in English (speaking and writing)
  • Proven capabilities in interacting with business users to gather requirements
  • Outstanding problem solving skills
  • Proactive, self starter, autonomous
