About the opportunity
We’re passionate about great customer service. So are you, as you join us as Director, Customer and Technology Operations. Leading and developing a detailed customer strategy, you’ll enhance our customer experience across the entire organisation. Driving innovation, improvement and high levels of customer satisfaction, you’ll take every opportunity to work collaboratively and use digital technology to improve the way we interact with customers and service users, ensuring they enjoy the best possible experience. You’ll manage technology operations and technical project delivery, as well as oversee the operational management of our end user computing applications, network and infrastructure services and technology vendor management. This is an exciting opportunity that will see you balance efficiency, costs and customer satisfaction as you do all you can to ensure every single customer has a positive experience with Essex County Council.
Strategic and inspiring, engaging and collaborative, you’re an inspirational leader with significant experience in a customer-led environment. Along with extensive experience in a technical specialist area – such as customer service operations, technology management or library and information management – you’ll also be able to show us where you’ve developed solutions to deliver value for money services. Driven and engaging, you’ll provide a culture of autonomy and empowerment, encouraging your team to work effectively and collaboratively to achieve results – for themselves and the business. You’ll challenge conventional thinking, manage risk and influence stakeholders, seizing opportunities and making things happen. Above all, you’ll show the commitment and skills to ensure we can respond to the needs of the council and its residents.
