Role Description


We’re recruiting for an experienced analytics and data sciences leader with a track-record in delivering sophisticated analytics solutions to companies where big data is a key asset for delivering their multi-channel strategic objectives.  The individual will have experience in working in a stakeholder facing role, managing analysts and data scientists whilst being hands-on building models and data solutions.  The individual must also have the ability to translate complicated analytics in to commercial outputs.

Key Responsibilites

• Provide analytical and statistical support across the following types of work:

-  Customer behavioural insight

-  Marketing optimisation through statistical modelling

-  Attrition, retention and reactivation modelling

-  Customer segmentation

-  Pricing and proposition modelling

-  Customer value modelling

-  Forecasting

-  Ranging Analysis

-  BI / Visualisation

-  Location Planning and Spatial Analytics

-  Performance Media Optimisation and Digital Attribution


• Use of a wide array of industry standard tools for data interrogation and statistical modelling including SAS, SQL, SPSS, R, Alteryx, Plython,Tableau.  Working with big-data warehouses and platforms such as Oracle, Teradata, Hadoop, KDB+, AWS and Azure


• Use a wide variety of statistical and modelling techniques to ensure that we deliver the optimal solution that closely matches a client’s requirements and utilises the best data available to work with


• Design, implement and delivers business performance/improvement programs


• Lead a team of analysts, providing guidance and mentorship whilst managing project work-load and client priorities


• Client Management - spending time onsite delivering and embedding solutions whilst managing key stakeholder engagement, identifying opportunities for business development and generally developing client relationships.





• Degree level or equivalent in areas such as Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Psychology, Geography or Business



• Master’s Degree or Professional qualification in a marketing, technology or data sciences related subject

• Certification in programing languages such as SAS / SQL / R / Python


• Strong experience using a wide array of customer, transactional, digital, marketing, pricing, research and merchandising data to provide statistical and analytical solutions across offline and online channels

• Marketing sciences background

• Programming skills across languages such as SAS / SQL / R / Python / C++ / Java

• Statistical experience using techniques such as Regression, ANOVA, Factor Analysis, Clustering, Bayesian Statistics, Graph Theory and Game Theory

• Expert user of Microsoft Office tools, in particular Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint

• Experience in Visualisation software such as Tableau or Power BI an advantage

• Experience of presenting to different levels within an organisation essential

• Ability to work under own initiative and to tight deadlines essential

• Personable and comfortable with meeting with clients

• Team leadership, line-management and mentoring

• Strong team player a necessity

• Knowledge of the retail sector would be a distinct advantage

• Digital experience understanding digital customer journeys, data linkage and attribution would be an advantage
