SWIB is seeking an experienced applications developer to assist the Manager of the developers by providing oversight of the applications development team, including assigning tasks, overseeing and maintaining processes, and driving innovation within the development approach at SWIB. While not a formal supervisory position, the incumbent will provide first level leadership to the team. This role will build and maintain the application development processes utilized by the team and perform some high level application development.

Essential activities:

  • Partner with the manager to provide leadership to the applications development team
  • Build and maintain the processes used by the applications development team
  • Build and maintain the custom, in-house applications at SWIB and interfaces between systems
  • Provide excellent support and customer service to the business users
  • Oversee third party applications and vendors
  • Manage the technologies the developers utilize to do their work

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in information technology or related degree required
  • 5+ years of applications development experience
  • 2+ years of experience leading teams
  • Microsoft-based development experience required
  • ETL, SQL, Tableau, and release management experience a plus
  • Investment industry experience, or interest in, preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • An ability to be adaptive and thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Superb work ethic, attention to detail, team orientation, and commitment to excellence

The position requires U.S. work authorization and residency in, or willingness to relocate to, the Madison, Wisconsin area. SWIB is prepared to offer relocation assistance as needed.
