Acting as Deputy to the Chief Accountant, you will assist to prepare financial statements and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position.

You will assist with the annual budgets and will prepare the necessary management reports.  You will also assist with finance projects and their implementation, as well as participate in continuous system/ process improvement activities.  You will assist to develop and implement accounting policies and procedures where necessary, and will assist to report, analyze and ensure the integrity of all financial information, including maintaining the system of accounts, checking invoices for payment, following cash flow position, and keeping records on all company transactions.  

You will be responsible for the preparation of regulatory returns and surveys; and ensuring adherence to new regulatory requirements.  You will perform the reconciliation of accounts, as required and will prepare the accrual journal for goods/ services received without an invoice and recurring expenses, as well as ad-hoc entries for month/ year end close.  You will prepare the monthly BAS returns and assist in the preparation of other tax reports.  You will also perform the year-end closing process and make provisions as deemed necessary.

You will work and liaise with the various functions, including the branches in Asia and the Head Office, and will coordinate with internal auditors for operational audits as and when necessary.  You will also coordinate and liaise with external auditors to perform financial and operational audits, as well as any other duties/ tasks assigned by the Chief Accountant.

Pre-requisites:

  • CA/ CPA qualified
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience, with a financial services background is essential
  • Previous regulatory reporting (APRA) experience is essential
  • Able to produce accurate financial and regulatory reports, as well as meet deadlines
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple deliverables
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Organized and methodical
  • Proficient in MS Excel – Intermediate to Advanced
