Your new role
Working in a team of 3 Tax specialists your duties will include;
- Tax Planning: management, anticipation, and optimization of the ANZ entities effective tax rate:
- Review various ANZ returns and ensure monthly lodgement with tax and revenue authorities
- Conducting tax analysis of tax sensitive accounts for various tax reporting purposes
- Preparing and processing tax journals and monthly reconciliation of tax accounts.
- Computation of tax provision for monthly and annual financial reporting (actual, annual budget and forecast), ensuring correct tax reporting for both local financials as well as corporate reporting, working closely with the Chief Accounting Officer.
- Ensuring that all filing requirements are completed on a timely and accurate basis.
- Assist the Tax Director ANZ in preparing the Country by Country reporting.
- Assist in the development and implementation of systems, policies processes to ensure compliance with local regulations as well as the group's policies.
- Assist in advising ANZ agencies on proposed or new tax legislation, regulations and rulings.
- Assist the Tax Director ANZ in Group and Company reorganisations, acquisitions, reduction of legal entities and disposals, tax aspects thereof.
- Graduate or higher in Finance/ Tax focused degree
- CA/CPA qualified highly desired.
- Experience in Audit, Compliance, Accounting, Financial Reporting or Project Management is a plus
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- Experience working in multi-cultural or international settings
- Additional experience with media advertising would be highly beneficial.
- Strong knowledge of Australian Tax knowledge
- Very strong income tax compliance and tax effect accounting skills
- Familiar with Accounting, GL, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury.
- Experience in Australian tax consolidation, M&A and international tax advantageous
- Strong experience in using Excel
- High ethical standards and integrity; able to be a champion of the company's value system.
- Persistent and diligent in following through issues to closure
- Strong communicator with the ability to establish and maintain professional relationships, at ease in multicultural environments
- Strong people management skills and comfortable with ambiguity
- Hands-on mind-set, strong operational skills, pro-active and not reactive
