Position Objectives:

Contract Manager will be accountable for the supervision of contractual activity for selected, high value, global and national Corporate and Public Sector TTS clients. Contract Management facilitate global and regional negotiations across the bank, serving as a central conduit to the client. The person will maintain overall responsibility for the end to end management of contractual negotiations, and post-negotiation the execution and maintenance of contractual Framework Agreements and supporting documentation for key clients.  

The objective of the position is to enhance the client interactions/ experience through managing the Global documentation negotiation for Citi's top clients, while balancing the client view with the business risk to TTS/Citi as well as other priorities. The Contract Manager will be required to establish strong relationships within the client's organization, as well as with the various internal stakeholders, in order to agree and execute globally acceptable agreements. Any new non-standard requests will be routed via the Contract Manager in order to be able to respond to the client with a holistic view across all countries in scope. 

The Contract manager will have significant interaction with senior management and stakeholders and will work with various partner groups including Implementations, Legal, Compliance, Operations, Technology, Implementation and Service to drive product initiatives and rollouts. 

In addition to above the Contract Manager is responsible for navigating the overall change process to existing documentation. The core responsibility assumes organizing and chairing EMEA Documentation Governance Committee (monthly) and tracking all submitted changes (approved and non-approved), while monitoring the implementation into the core documentation of all approved changes (in partnership with Global Team). The person will work closely with Global Documentation Team to monitor any globally initiated changes and ensure that we have all necessary approvals for all EMEA countries to implement the change. 

Due to documentation governance function the role will be closely linked with CitiDirect Digital Onboarding initiative and will ensure that all requirements for digital flow are reflected consistently in the non-digital flow as well.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Alongside the Product, Sales and Account Management teams, manage a portfolio of Platinum clients, negotiating, executing and maintaining Contractual Agreements, which support the operations of Cash Management for the clients
  • To be the client advocate during negotiation of Contractual Agreement terms cross regionally, where clients have global business with Citi 
  • To be the subject matter expert on the client's documentation requirements and single point of contact for Implementation, Account Services, Legal and Product Sales globally, as it relates to Master Agreements for named clients 
  • To coordinate and maintain an accurate inventory of executed (negotiated) agreements for each client with Citi and maintain database of key negotiated terms and contract expiry as applicable 
  • This specialist role will combine a functional and legal scope, requiring a person with sound process and business knowledge, with some legal expertise. The role will manage and chair EMEA Documentation Governance Committee and maintian record of all changes (approved and non-approved).
  • Driving solutions across the often differencing needs of the client, business, geographic risk and legal nuances, responding to various client inquiries related to documentation requirements
  • To insulate the client from organization differences, that generates different requirements or processes for agreements
  • Balancing the needs of the client, with local legal, regulatory and risk requirements 
  • Proactively managing agreements ahead of clients operational account opening needs; striving for efficient lead times, whilst minimizing any client inconvenience and maximize revenue realization
  • Drive consistency in client experience through global guidelines and policies on documentation negotiations, while feeding in local specificities into the Global work stream of documentation optimization and ensuring consistency between Digital Onboarding requirements and non-digital flows
  • Participate as a key driver of the digitization effort, including creating Business Requirements Documents and driving application development with Technology partners for successful roll out of our documentation digitization efforts
  • Work closely with all global/regional Project Managers, Service, Operations and Implementation to ensure smooth and appropriate on-boarding of clients
  • Note: this role will be supporting multiple time zones and will need to be flexible as such

  • BA / BS Degree with legal background 
  • The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in the Cash Management and Trade  business 
  • Experience in contract negotiation in a P and L, procurement or other financial services related function is required 
  • Must possess international experience, specifically the varying country regulatory environments 
  • Exceptional client relationship skills, with ability to build strong internal and external relations 
  • Ability to achieve results through collaboration and networking 
  • Demonstrate sound business acumen and commercial awareness, with proactive problem solving and advocacy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Extensive years of Product Management/Documentation/Client Onboarding experience preferably in a bank environment
  • Extensive years of project/program management experience preferably in a bank.
