Business Risk Officer
Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) provides award-winning integrated cash management and trade finance services to multinational corporations, financial institutions and public sector organizations across the world.  The TTS Asia business was recently awarded Euromoney's Best Transaction Bank in Asia given our leading capabilities, solutions and depth of client relationships across 15 markets in Asia Pacific.  
The Business manager primary responsibility will be to support the TTS Head and the TTS Business in Malaysia with the implementation and execution of the business strategy and delivery of performance targets. In addition he/she will be the primary owner of managing cash management and trade services product risk and support Country TTS Head to maintain a robust risk & control framework that enables effective risk & control identification, mitigation, monitoring and escalation. The role advises and guides the TTS business on all risk and control matters including oversight over TTS Operations & Technology that requires working closely and extensively with various stakeholders within Citibank Malaysia such as   Banking, CCB, Operations and Technology, Compliance, AML, ORM.
He/she will bring deep business management, product and Risk & Control expertise, and exceptional execution discipline to focus on the following:
  • Oversee implementation of  business management goals and objectives that tend to growth and prosperity
  • Implement business plans and strategies to promote the attainment of goals
  • Review and approval of product programs to pro-actively identify, assess and mitigate risk.
  • Actively identify and manage risk through the MCA processes
  • Manage the implementation of Regulatory requirements, policies and procedures.
  • Maintain front-to-back line-of-sight on risks and controls across all TTS business products and functions, including Operations, Technology and Service Centers
Key responsibilities:
  • Develop business strategy and planning materials (on-sites, business and strategy reviews, deep-dives, annual planning and forecasting processes)
  • Facilitate revenue outlook meetings, gap analysis against plan and coordinate consolidation and submission of financial plan templates
  • Monitor and review monthly expenses
  • Production and analysis of various reports including management reporting, sales and product reports, revenue realization, business reviews and regulatory reports and other ad-hoc business analysis in a timely and high quality manner
  • Work, on a consultative basis, with other TTS teams (product, sales, implementation and senior management) to provide analytical and project support
  • Manager's Control Assessment (MCA) Management and Annual Risk Assessment (ARA)
  • Issue and Corrective Action Plan (CAP) Management
  • End-to-end management of Regulatory change
  • Operational Risk Events Management:
  • Third Party Risk Management
  • Continuity of Business (CoB) Management
  • Records Management
  • Participate in, and represent as required, the TTS Business in various cross-franchise governance committees
  • Support the business in Audit, Franchise reviews and Regulatory Examinations

Qualifications

Knowledge/ experience:
  • Minimum 5 years in the Financial Services industry
  • Thorough understanding of diverse business processes and strategy development
  • Deep knowledge of cash management and trade products
  • Experience and knowledge across all risk types with focus on operational, regulatory, AML and cyber
Skills:
  • Strong relationship skills to manage external and internal relationships
  • Good understanding of research methods and data analysis techniques
  • Strong analytical skills to determine and action on business trends, identify and prioritize key risks and recommend adequate corrective actions
  • Adaptability and dynamism given the evolution of the TTS Business
Qualifications:
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional qualification
