Financial Crime Risk ("FCR") is a Global Function that brings together all areas of financial crime risk management at HSBC and is dedicated to implementing the most effective global standards to combat financial crime. The function has been set up in a way that enables us to build on our achievements in managing financial crime risk effectively across the bank and continue to strengthen financial crime detection, anti-money laundering, sanctions and anti-bribery and corruption compliance.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to take on the role Financial Crime Risk Business Manager (GCB 5).

Principal responsibilities

  • The role is responsible to the country Business Management team for:
  • Implementing a consistent and effective approach to business management across the functional areas;
  • Facilitate the implementation of Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF) and Operational Risk Transformation Program (ORTP) within the function locally;
  • Oversight of risk and issues management;
  • Govern and monitor resource and financial planning for country FCR management;
  • Collaborate with local Global Functions and Lines of Businesses relevant matters (e.g. recharges, sharing of best practices, vendor oversight) to drive timely and effective service delivery
  • Lead in coordination of Business Continuity Planning and Deputy BIRO activities within the Function;
  • Facilitate smooth running of FCR function by supporting all business activities including premises.


  • University degree in a related discipline, or some other relevant qualification;
  • Proven experience in a financial services group operation, with a particular emphasis on money laundering, compliance, audit, risk management, control and/or external regulations;
  • Ability to break down complex problems and use various program teams to help drive a resolution;
  • Experience and understanding in Client Due Diligence / Know-Your-Client / Client Remediation; "hands-on" risk management;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
