Senior Solution Architect
The Senior Solution Architect is to engage with platform partners and understand their technology stack, employing this understanding to generate integration requirements with CIMB's application and technology infrastructure.

This role requires excellent attention to detail, as the solution architect frequently needs to examine functional specifications and translate them into system guidelines that shape project development and implementation as well as to find ways to align projects with CIMB enterprise applications.

The solution architect is frequently responsible for conducting research on partner systems and devising CIMB solutions that work within those systems. The solution architect may also meet directly with platform partners to discuss solutions, answer questions regarding software capabilities and requirements, and work to resolve issues that arise during the development and implementation cycle.

This role requires a person who is passionate about technology and technological trends, has a natural inquisitive mindset and tenacious nature of not giving up when problems and roadblocks would invariably occur.

Key responsibilities:
  • Possess a high level of technical literacy, so as to determine how a software solution fits into CIMB's existing application architecture
  • Possess a high level of analytical skill in order to examine a platform partner's current systems and applications and then determine overall project integration needs and scope
  • Be excellent problem-solvers, able to quickly change direction based on updated platform partner software specifications or system limitations at the partner side or CIMB side
  • Designs the overall technological architecture of the digital product
  • Responsible for the technical design of the digital product
  • Guides project teams on technology strategy
  • Mentors and coaches the technical team, specifically with code reviews
  • Is hands on and engages in coding to help the team to develop the solution and solve all surfacing problems at hand Identifies and removes technical impediments
  • Works with Digital Product Owner to align the roadmap with strengths and opportunities within the technical stack
  • Constantly looks for better ways of solving technical problems and designing the solution, not afraid of challenging the status quo
  • Provides the team a roadmap for implementing software engineering practices for higher code quality
  • Shares responsibility with Digital Product Owner for building reusable and scalable components


Qualifications
Domain Expertise
  • Seen as an expert within the technical components of the domains/products/journeys
  • Seasoned developer or technical lead with deep insight into newest technologies and trends
  • Can make architecture decisions at a team and product level
  • Acknowledged as an expert on the technology stack including deployments
  • Influences and sets goals for organizational architectural and technical
  • Able to create innovative solutions that add value to the organization
  • Proactively initiates and drives initiatives to improve technical direction of the organization
Agile Expertise
  • Experience working on projects that span multiple organizations and business units
  • Experience in Agile Development, with specific Solution Architect (or similar) experience preferred
  • Understands relationship with Product Owner, Scrum Master, and rest of technical team
  • Experience managing technical priorities within the backlog
  • Empowers team to take ownership to solve problems and make decisions
  • Highly effective contributor who constantly thinks about the future of the product; willing to take educated risks
  • Identifies and resolves technical impediments before they impact development (e.g. design, deployments etc)
