Finance Director's Deputy, AVP
A position exists within the Poland Finance team based in Krakow. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the successful candidate will be part of the team responsible for accounting and regulatory reporting for Polish entities. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a suitable candidate to further their career and play a key role in the Finance Department of a global financial services organization.

Scope of duties:
  • Day to day responsibility for the accounting function including timely and accurate month end, quarter end and year end reporting to Group;
  • Preparation of annual financial statements;
  • Cooperation with Corporate Tax on Tax related matters;
  • Cooperation with Financial Planning and Analyses on budgeting, forecasting and variance analyzing;
  • Assisting in the timely delivery of finance packs to legal entity boards;
  • Detailed analysis of legal entity financials;
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of regulatory reports (KRS, NBP, Intrastat);
  • Participate in the capital planning process;
  • Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and with the GAAPs;
  • Implementing and maintaining a strong control environment;
  • Implementation of procedures, processes and policies to ensure best practice in financial and regulatory reporting;
  • Liaise with other groups within finance to ensure accurate legal entity and business unit reporting;
  • Oversight of activities in global Centre of Excellence;
  • Participation in global finance projects and workgroups;
  • Liaising with internal/external auditors;
  • Liaising with external counterparties and regulators;
  • Ad hoc queries as required - internal and external.

Skills required:
  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA qualification preferred);
  • Solid practical knowledge of Polish GAAPs;
  • General Understanding of US GAAPs and German GAAPs (optionally);
  • Excellent PC skills: MS Excel and MS Word essential;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Ability to work on own initiative and to tight deadlines;
  • Strong team ethic;
  • Highly organized and motivated;
  • Demonstrated analytical/problem solving skills;
  • Fluent English.
