What you'll do

As a highly experienced automation QA engineer, the role will give you the chance to work with the latest middleware technologies. From day one you will be testing high volume, high performance services where security, reliability, and accuracy are paramount.
• Work within the Quality Assurance team to test new functionality, as well as regression testing a multitude of different software applications
• New tests development
• Converse directly with the Business and IT teams to ensure suitable understanding of requirements and required test coverage
• Raise and manage any defects identified throughout the software development life cycle
• Contribute to the IG Group Quality Assurance strategy
• Work as part of an Agile/Scrum development team
• Provide QA guidance to the team

Who you'll be

Technology stack: Java 8, HTTP / REST, Kafka, JMS, Spring, REST Assured
Essential:
• Significant experience in testing RESTful web services
• Understanding of testing methodologies and their application, including UAT and System Testing
• Energetic and analytical approach to problem solving
• Is able to use necessary tools to debug problems with the software
• Ability to demonstrate understanding of software testing techniques
• Good understanding of CI / CD
• Java programming skills
• Working Knowledge of:
o UNIX
o Git
o Maven
o Bamboo or Jenkins
o Junit
o Shell
• Cross-platform testing experience
Desirable:
• Experience in automation of web-services
• Experience in spring, junit/testng, maven, GIT
• Knowledge of communication protocols: HTTP (rest, json/xml), Kafka, JMS
• Experience of iterative/agile development methodologies (SCRUM, XP)
