The Role Responsibilities
Strategy
  • Support and promote the Bank's capital, liquidity, and balance sheet position, with particular focus on CPBB business.
  • Forge strong Treasury - CPBB partnerships with increased focus on the importance of external pricing. Other areas of focus include rate sensitivity, passthroughs and margins. Support the business in the growth of quality CPBB CASA deposits, Cost of Funds management and improving returns.
  • Provide insights and analysis for the CPBB portfolio with focus in the areas of external pricing and pass-through rates
Business and Analytics
  • Work with CPBB business, Finance and Treasury stakeholders price sensitivity, external pricing, NIM forecasting and regular back-testing of the CPBB portfolio
  • Contribute to the creation of appropriate MI and analytics to increase the visibility of pricing and margins across different interest rate cycles.
  • Assist in the education of CPBB business stakeholders on the types of commercial enablers which Treasury can deploy to drive desired business outcomes and how these should be employed effectively to drive the Bank's strategic agenda.
  • Work with Treasury Liquidity on matters relating to liquidity valuation of CPBB products to ensure pricing mechanisms remain effective in driving business growth.

  • Support in processes to help CPBB understand, review and challenge pricing behaviors across various interest rate cycles in key markets.
People and Talent
  • Support treasury's people agenda - including diversity, culture, conduct, people, and productivity objectives.
Risk Management
  • Actively flag risks in a timely manner and engage relevant stakeholders to create mitigative actions.
Governance
  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
  • Support the creation of appropriate MI to monitor Balance Sheet quality and key metrics and indicators to identify returns-destroying behavior.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • 5+ years of experience in financial background.
  • Experience in Treasury Liquidity.
  • Experience in Balance Sheet Management.
  • Experience in the banking industry, including demonstrated success in a similar role.
  • Experience in Retail Banking will be helpful.

Role Specific Technical Competencies
  • Knowledge of Interest Rate Risk (Banking Book)
  • Knowledge of Revenue and Pricing Sensitivity
  • Experience in Balance Sheet Management
