Business Function

Group Technology and Operations (T&O) enables and empowers the bank with an efficient, nimble and resilient infrastructure through a strategic focus on productivity, quality & control, technology, people capability and innovation. In Group T&O, we manage the majority of the Bank's operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels.
Job Purpose

  • Oversee, manage and lead Giro Processing team ensuring efficiency and delivery of high-quality service to meet established service standards
  • Undertake projects and enhancement of systems/work processes to facilitate work improvement and cost savings
  • Undertake BCP/DR requirements of Giro Processing
  • Monitor and manage ACH request as Bank G3 and CAS Coordinator
  • Actively participate in industry initiatives
Responsibilities

  • Ensure smooth operations in Giro Processing and ensure the team meets the service standard set by the bank as well as the quality required by internal & external customers
  • Review and identify opportunities to enhance systems and operational efficiency
  • Initiate and deliver projects to achieve work improvements & cost savings
  • Liaise with Technical Support Teams to ensure systems function smoothly
  • Ensure team adheres to the bank's compliance and risk control guidelines
  • Ensure daily exceptions are processed within cut-off time and all transactions/GL entries are correctly posted and accounted for
  • Plan and organize resources to meet operations and UAT needs
  • Handle exceptions arising from Giro Processing
  • Liaise with relevant parties (e.g. branches, technical support, ACH, vendors, other BUs etc.) to resolve issues
  • Oversee UATs, live verifications, DR drills and ensure issues are followed up promptly and resolved before sign-off
  • Perform CSA validation and assessment, administrative functions and assignments within given timeframe
  • Mitigate and reduce errors & risk incidents
  • Liaise with business units on process reviews, new initiatives etc
  • Constantly review processes/procedures and initiate changes for improvements
  • Supervise and coach staff, review staff performance and improve on staff skill sets
Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with min. 7 years of experience in an operations environment
  • Good understanding of Giro processing workflow and systems related to Giro Processing
  • Knowledge of FAST and Paynow design and flows
  • Good understanding of GL entries
  • Possess good customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Strong team player with the ability to troubleshoot issues quickly and effectively
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Access, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint with O365
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
