TheAsia Pacific Region Head for Commercial Banking's International SubsidiariesCoverage Team ("International Banking") supports Commercial Banking's (CB's)business in more than 12 countries across the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. Our subsidiary banking teams focus on identifying international bankingopportunities at the foreign subsidiaries of our clients headquartered in theU.S. and around the world, and provide them with comprehensive relationshipmanagement coverage in their local markets. These subsidiary bankers,known as International Coverage Executives (ICEs), closely coordinate with theparent bankers to develop a relationship plan to facilitate deeper penetrationof their clients international needs and smooth execution on new businessopportunities. ICEs support parent bankers who traditionally have beenbased in the U.S., and now - with the recently announced InternationalCorporate Client Banking initiative - are also based in Mexico, Europe andAPAC.

This position is based in Hong Kong or Singapore, and reports directly to the Head of International Banking for Commercial Banking (Morgan McGrath), located in the U.S., and locally to the Head of International Corporate Client Banking for CB for APAC (Pravin Advani).


  • Responsible for building and managing the International Banking franchise with CB subsidiaries in the APAC region for Commercial Banking
  • Work in close partnership with parent bankers, Treasury Services sales and product teams and risk & control partners to ensure excellence in relationship coverage and a strong fortress controls environment across the region for CB'
  • Work in close partnership with the Head of International Corporate Client Banking for CB for APAC (Pravin Advani) to ensure the successful launch of this new initiative
  • Own and deliver against CB APAC financial targets to drive top line revenues and bottom line profit, and to improve cost efficiency to achieve excellent operating margin results
  • Size the market and client opportunity. Identify, solicit and develop new relationships and facilitate the expansion of these relationships regionally and globally
  • Lead and manage multiple teams of ICEs across the region with their responsibilities as relationship managers with client acquisition and growth objectives, as well as KYC and other requirements in accordance with local regulations
  • Work closely with International Product Specialists in the U.S., and with the parent bankers, to identify opportunities and translate this to local business, and to promote awareness of J.P. Morgan's international capabilities as well as products/services in Asia Pacific with U.S. parents. International travel, including across APAC and the U.S., is required
  • Responsible for handling all aspects of client relationships including structuring and execution of all types of banking transactions. Provide quality and tailored banking solutions to CB clients through the partnership with various Product teams -- Treasury Services, Trade, Investment Banking and Foreign Exchange to deliver a comprehensive suite of solutions to clients
  • Partner with Treasury Services to ensure optimal product delivery, implementation and execution of our treasury management products
  • Supervise non-TS product delivery including loan and related products, including identifying and assess credit related transactions and documentation requirements, analyzing complex financial information to structure appropriate client solutions and execute credit facility transactions. Supervise ICEs work with internal and external legal counsel on credit documentation, negotiation of loan documentation with clients, liaise with CB and APAC credit risk management, credit middle office and loan operations to close credit transactions
  • Maintain strong risk & control culture, compliance and adherence to internal audit, regulatory and statutory requirements

  • Minimum 15 years of corporate banking and Treasury Services experience with solid understanding of the business and market dynamics, key challenges and competitive landscape of APAC
  • Over 10 years of proven leadership, management, execution and influencing skills. Strong people manager with a proven track record of managing in a multi-cultural, multi-geographic environment, and in developing talent
  • Effective executive who can develop viable strategies as well as taking pragmatic steps to execute such strategies to grow the business with this client set. Strong commercial judgement
  • Proven sales and marketing capability to develop and maintain trusted client relationships as evidenced by winning new business and closing transactions. Successful at delivering the entire firm to our clients
  • Good knowledge of general corporate banking products and services including debt products, working capital finance, cash management, trade finance, FX and derivatives products
  • Good credit analysis and structuring skills relating to cross border credit risk transactions. Credit experience in both developed and emerging markets countries
  • Prudent risk and control judgment; proven ability to build a solid control culture
  • Ability to form strong partnerships and work across lines of businesses and leverage internal resources. Ability to navigate across the firm to get things done and work in an environment where there are multiple stakeholders
