Associate / Senior Associate - Investment (Innovation)

The Innovation team at Temasek sits within the Investment Group and is focused on early-stage investments into startups deploying disruptive technologies and/or business models. This includes sectors such as artificial intelligence, alternative proteins, financial technology, industrial automation, new materials, and transport & mobility, amongst others. The team's portfolio also spans several regions including North America, Europe, United Kingdom, and Asia.

Overall, the Innovation team contributes to Temasek's early-stage investment strategy by permeating insights on disruption across Temasek and investing in the winners of tomorrow.

The role involves:
• Assist with all stages of deal execution, including preparing investment memos and slide decks, conducting due diligence, and portfolio reporting work
• Identifying, evaluating and presenting new investment areas/geographies using market research and analysis
• Establishing and cultivating relationships with companies, corporate partners and other relevant institutions as well as other industry professionals

The incumbent should have:
• Excellent academic credentials with strong analytical abilities
• Ability to work well in a team and think creatively and strategically
• Relevant prior early-stage investment experience and good financial modeling skills and;
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
• Technical knowledge in a particular industry (e.g., AI, Fintech) will be preferable
