Business Analyst works in liaison with business stakeholders to understand business problems and opportunities in the context of translating complex business needs into technology supported business solutions and recommend solutions that enable to achieve business goals
  1. PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AND/OR DEGREE

Bachelors or Masters degree preferably in Business or Computer Science IT

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Experience in a banking environment is imperative, ideally Private Bank or Wealth Management.

8+ years of Business Analysis experience and proven track record working with distributed delivery teams across geographies

BUSINESS KNOWLEDGE

Relevant knowledge & experience of the domains below is required :

  • Capital Markets (FO, MO, BO & Trading)
  • Private Banking & Wealth Management (different Asset Types / Financial products)
  • Asset & Investment Management

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

  • Mastery of MS-Office tools
  • Sound understanding of project management lifecycles, disciplines, methods (Waterfall & Agile), tools and procedures
  • Some technical experience with development and/or database design & management e.g.RDBMS

LANGUAGES

English, French (spoken & written)

 

 

  1. KEY SERVICES / RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead engagement with the client/business to gather, analyse, refine and document business requriements for delivering the business solution
  • Analysis of customers' business requests, definition of needs and translate them into functional specifications [Scoping Notes, Project Validation Document (PVD), Productt Requirement Baseline(PRB), Product Design Specifications(PDS)]

 

  • Lead engagement with the client/business to gather, analyse, refine and document business requriements for delivering the business solution
  • Analysis of customers' business requests, definition of needs and translate them into functional specifications [Scoping Notes, Project Validation Document (PVD), Productt Requirement Baseline(PRB), Product Design Specifications(PDS)]
  • Lead workshops, brain storming sessions and joint development workshops to define/design & deliver specification such as use cases & user stories
  • Work with Technical Expert to ensure full accountability of the PDS (Product Detailed specifications).Provide clarifications to project tream during the development phase of the project to any queries pertaining to PVD, PRB, PDS. Where necessary, PDS and/or for the acceptance of alternative solutions, due to design or implementation constraints encountered.
  • Arrange and chair meeting with business stakeholders and technology teams to ensure new requirements are understood, complete and accurate.
  • Recommend changes to client in business processes to align with proposed Core Banking System’s processes and to maximize the benefits from the proposed solution
  • Ownership of Artifacts & Collaborative documentation across all phases of project life cycle
  • As part of the development of the project plan, contribute by providing workload estimates
  • Contribute preparation of Test Strategy and Test Plan (functional, regression, peripheral testing)
  • Prepare and perform functional testing to support UAT. Arbitration of defects - validation against signed-off PRB, PVD and assignment to respective teams.
  • Contribute to post Go-live checks covering Qore and external systems impacted.
  • Contribute to the realization of entrusted projects
  • Support clients throughout the project phases (requirement gathering, tests, deployment, presentations ...)
  • Define and develop various services around/for the products and develop the competency required.
  1. PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
  • Knowledge of banking products, ideally Capital Market and and Private Banking
  • Institutionalise and drive knowledge management processes across the product space
  • Knowledge of a core banking system is highly appreciated
  • Technology acquaintance : COBOL, Java, SQL, APIs & Digital Banking

  • Proficient in writing use cases, visual modeling, business processes, business requirements and functional specification documentation.
  • Understand, identify and negotiate needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results.
  • Ensure gaps in deliverables are identified early and addressed effectively.
  • Detailed understanding and demonstrable experience pf the full project lifecycle including requirement/configuration documentations, testing, migrations, interactions & close working relationship with cross-functional teams(project managers, IT/Development teams, Testing team and architects), target operating model design & delivery
  • Extensive experience of business and technology change –identify, document, analyze and improve business and system processes and user journeys
  • Previous experience on core banking product (Temenos-T24, Avaloq, Olympic etc) systems implementations for global clients
  • A passion for working in and developing a culture of collaboration, automation, improvement, sharing and excellence
  • Keep abreast of Wealth Management / Private Banking market trends, regulatory changes, technological advances to incorporate appropriate changes in our product offerings
