Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic and self-starter salesperson who can contribute to Citi Velocity sales strategy in Asia Pacific including Japan.  The candidate should expect to work with both external Clients and internal Citi Sales, Trading and Structuring desks to market/pitch our capabilities in Citi proprietary analytics/indicators/data, Research and Commentaries, help with regional video and marketing efforts in order to deepen client relationships in Citi's e-distribution efforts. 
The candidate will directly speak with clients in all Client Segments across asset classes to help distribute trade ideas and facilitate cross-selling via Citi Velocity tools/monitors.  This position is most suitable for self-starters who'd like a broad role with client exposure.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 yrs of work experience in the Finance industry with at least 1 year in one or combination of quantitative analysis or client-facing role
  • Strong verbal and written communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
  • Good knowledge in one or two Global Markets product areas (Rates, Credit, FX, Local Markets, Equities, Commodities) with a willingness and interest to learn new markets and asset classes
  • Good analytical and quantitative skills including working knowledge in Excel and Bloomberg Desirable Skills
  • Working knowledge in applying web/usage analytics to improve user experience
  • Work experience in client-facing roles
  • Proficiency in another Asian language
The Salesperson is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Excellent communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits. Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop the Citi franchise with specific client base
  • Refine and implement a sales and marketing strategy aiming at substantially improving Citi's client footprint and maximizing associated revenue
  • Work with management and colleagues to establish a clear marketing plan with defined priorities and market penetration and revenue objectives
  • Ability to leverage existing contacts network, understand client needs, introduce the Citi offering, convince clients to adopt it and increase client satisfaction and Citi revenue
  • On-boarding and prospecting key clients
  • Assist other team members in strategic positioning as well as to close transactions with various internal stakeholders
  • Improved footprint with the client base - which should translate into incremental sales credit and trading revenues for the various relevant trading desks
  • Thorough product and clients knowledge with relevant products and client base
  • Should be able to forge a working relationship with other salespeople in order to be able to leverage Citi's franchise and source relevant buying and selling opportunities for the clients the person is responsible for
  • Broadened responsibilities either across client types or products in the region or even across other regions
  • Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance in order to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure
  • Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethics
  • Appropriately assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions; demonstrating proper consideration for the firm's reputation.
  • Be familiar with and adhere to Citi's Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:
  • 5-8 years of experience
  • Prior Sales experience at a financial services organization
  • Broad client relationships preferred
  • Experience in a client facing role working with the buy-side community
  • Self-Motivated, excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Advanced problem solving skills
  • Must have or be able to obtain licenses required, Series 3, 7, 55, 63

Education:
  • Bachelors/University degree or equivalent experience
