 Corporate Actions Operations Specialist

Our client, a Global Investment Management company is looking to add a Corporate Actions Operations Specialist into their team. This is an initial 1 year contract with good chances of renewal or conversion.

Job Function Summary

The Operations Specialist in the Singapore office will provide Operational support to the daily trading activities of all portfolio managers trading Equity and Fixed Income products based in Asia. Candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and one that is continually changing. Candidate must be able to work independently as well as in team environment.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Perform daily trade, position and cash reconciliations across multi-asset classes across all APAC markets; including Corporate Actions processing.
  • Products coverage: Cash Equities, Equity Swaps, Convertible Bonds, OTC, FX, Futures and Options
  • Analyze processes to enhance work efficiency & controls, and participate in ad-hoc projects; work with internal stakeholders including global Ops/IT and wider Core Infrastructure teams to implement new systems/workflow, with particular focus around Corporate Actions process.
  • Establish good working relationship with Portfolio Managers and Middle Office. Be the primary point of contact for Asia-based Portfolio Managers on operational and Corporate Action queries as well as broader issues, which may require escalation to Management.
  • Liaise with prime brokers, sell-side dealers and vendors on a regular basis to resolve issues and improve procedures

Qualifications/Skills Required
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 7 years of related experience, particularly in Corporate Actions/Asset Servicing
  • Prior experience in Buy- or Sell-side with Equities & Derivatives. Strong knowledge in APAC markets is a must.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with wider Core Infrastructure teams as well as Portfolio Managers/Traders and external counterparties
  • Quick learner, able to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to drive and lead change in processes; attention to detail and strong ownership of work
