TOM Singapore is supporting our client, a commodity trading house with this exciting role that will give great exposure across the business. As a Credit Risk Senior Associate, this role reports directly to the Director of Risk to ensure the quality of the credit portfolio and to support the strategic objectives of the business. With a primary focus on APAC the portfolio includes management of both clients and products, qualitative and quantitative credit analysis, determining credit ratings and exposure whilst making recommendations to proactively alleviate risk for the business.
Responsibilities:
Ongoing credit risk analysis for the APAC portfolio, managing the business exposure against predetermined limits and adhering to the company risk management framework
Articulate communication of the current and future potential risks to internal stakeholders whilst ensuring all data is captured in accordance with company standards
Assess and present the credit risk limits for all new business proposals whilst also staying abreast of any external events that may affect the current business portfolio
Maintain and develop the business functional risk capabilities and skills to ensure ongoing business needs and plans are met
Adhoc project work as required
Requirements:
5-7 years’ experience in credit risk management within financial services ideally a trading setting
A strong interest in financial markets, technical expertise and experience with commodities or physical trading will be highly regarded
Excellent communication skills, a high level of attention to detail and the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels are essential for this role
