The Role Responsibilities
Strategy
  • Subject matter expert on all data-related querias and processes with respect to SIS investigations data.
  • Manage, provide oversight and review of all processes involving data processing, data management, data analytics, MI reporting.
  • Manage, review, and provide oversight of the periodic BAU as well as ad-hoc reporting processes.
  • Enhance the current governance framework the team operates within to adhere to changing internal processes and policies.
  • Contribute, drive, and manage continual improvements including automation of data processing and reports and creation of self-service dashboards.
  • To provide in-depth data analytics support on request including deep-dives on topical matters.
  • Manage the SIS Analytics mailbox.
  • Contribute and highlight risks to Analytics due to ongoing strategic projects being rolled out within SIS.
Business

  • Build and maintain an effective and constructive relationship with all key business and functional stakeholders that is based on trust, capability, and integrity, providing timely, responsive, and quality support to enable the Bank to achieve its strategic objectives.
  • Work closely with the SIS Operations team to understand changes to system and processes that affect Analytics processes and reporting.
  • Work closely with Speaking Up Compliance and MI teams to provide detailed guidance and support in resolving data-related queries while also ensuring seamless and accurate reporting to stakeholders.
  • Work closely with ER teams to provide quality and timely reporting and responses to stakeholders.
Processes
  • Provide oversight and review processes like data collation, data processing, data quality checks and additional reviews of the base investigations data which further drives the reporting process.
  • Manage the periodic reports that are being generated for stakeholders, perform second-level reviews to ensure high data quality and accuracy.
  • Manage, support, provide oversight, and perform second-level reviews for ad-hoc queries and requests as and when requested by stakeholders.
  • Continuously review stakeholder reports and engage with them to improve meaningfulness of SIS data and reporting being provided.
  • Proactively review reports that are being sent to stakeholders to ensure they meet their requirements and in response to changing internal processes and policies.
  • Proactively update the MI decks to ensure the key metrics being reported are in line with internal policies and direction.
  • Continuously work with stakeholders to understand new reporting requirements and implement changes to existing reports.
  • Enhance the current governance framework to encompass a seamless workflow, accurate records of reports, passwords and all associated process documents.
  • Lead and manage projects to automate data processing and reporting processes.
  • Lead and manage projects to continuously improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of processes.
  • Lead projects to update the existing excel based data processor including establishing policy requirements and updating data and business maps on a regular basis.
  • Perform and respond to requests for CST checks.
  • Where required, liaise with teams in Compliance and ER, to provide reporting to stakeholders.
  • Liaise with Speaking Up Compliance and ER reporting teams for responses to regulatory requests.
  • Lead and manage large scale strategic changes to SIS processes and track projects to completion.
  • Ensure data accuracy, security and confidentiality are maintained.
People and Talent
  • Engage and manage stakeholders to ensure that they are kept informed of changes to reporting or related processes
Risk Management
  • As required, assist with managing the Risk Management Framework for SIS, including performing regular Control Sample Tests for all investigations and reporting.
  • Lead periodic assessment on data quality.
  • Ensure all adhoc and BAU reports, and queries are being tracked.

Governance

  • Periodic assessment and enhancement of the current governance framework to encompass a seamless workflow, accurate records of reports, passwords and all associated process documents.
  • Lead on continuous improvement of data quality checks.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Professional with analytics experience (8+) preferably in financial services, ability to collect, and analyse complex data to prepare reports, which may be in the form of visualizations like graphs, charts and dashboards in support of investigations.
  • Experience in drafting, documenting, reporting, and analysing data. Demonstrable track record of showing good quality judgement providing concise, accurate, thorough, and well-structured analysis (both verbally and in writing).
  • Analytical mindset - Able to detect outliers by observing movements and trends in data. Be able to investigate issues and identify the drivers.
  • Reporting - expertise in performing deep-dives on topical matters with in-depth understanding of underlying data, visualise insights and findings and presenting it to a wide group of stakeholders.
  • Experience working on regulatory and audit requests.
  • Experience working with highly confidential data.
  • Well developed, flexible interpersonal and leadership skills appropriate at all levels of engagement within an organisation: ability to simplify complex and technical issues for non-technical audience.
  • Strong experience working with senior stakeholders including effective collaborative skills that contribute to positive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong experience in leading, managing and tracking strategic projects to completion.
  • Strong and keen risk and control mindset to ensure they are escalated and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deliverables with demonstrable organizational and time management skills.
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills and multi-cultural awareness and sensitivity.
  • Sound working knowledge of MS Office suite particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Sound judgment. excellent collaborative and team playing skills. Diplomacy, empathy and a 'can-do attitude'. Politeness, sensitivity, and the ability to gently, but professionally stand your grand when needed.
  • An inquisitive approach to practices, procedures, and specific transactions. Personal authority and integrity. Independence, creativity, resourcefulness, and resilience.
  • Sound understanding of the Whistleblowing Rules introduced by FCA and PRA.
  • Where applicable, sound understanding of the Bank's relevant policy and standards.
  • Sound understanding of the Operational Risk Framework.
  • Understanding of regulatory banking conduct environment & should be fully aware of associated Operational and Regulatory Risks.
  • Personal authority, integrity, and ethics.
Desirable
  • Advanced Excel VBA skills, with experience in data visualisation tools such as Tableau Power BI, MicroStrategy, a plus.
  • Previous leadership experience.
  • Sound knowledge of banking systems and organisational.
