Director, Financial Services, Singapore (5848)

Position: Director, Investment - Financial Services

Location: Singapore

Reporting: Managing Director, FS

Core functions/Responsibilities:
• Responsible for equity investments and portfolio management in China and rest of Asia, in line with the overall Financial Services strategy and with oversight from MD, FS
• Identify and originate investment opportunities in Financial Services including leading due diligence, structuring, negotiations, and other investment related processes
• Provide leadership and direction to comprehensive team of investment professionals that includes technical/commercial, legal and financial expertise
• Manage existing portfolio of investments including staying abreast of company, industry, and regulatory developments
• Lead drafting of internal reports, business cases and proposals for internal review and investment decisions
• Maintain continual awareness of the industry, emerging trends and factors which influence the value of Temasek's assets and opportunities for growth
• Other duties as required by the group management

Qualifications/Capabilities/Experience
• Bachelor / Masters in Finance /Business
• At least 10 years of financial services experience, across both traditional financial services (banks, insurance) and new economy fintech sectors; investing experience a plus
• Strong relationship building skills with good existing financial services / fintech network in China
• Strong technical and analytical skills with strong strategic perspectives
• Leadership capabilities to manage high performing team members, multiple priorities and stakeholders
• High personal integrity and challenging of self and team
• Tenacious with high energy levels
• Fluency in Mandarin
