The Role: As the Event Manager, you will provide meeting and event expertise and direction, working with all S&P Ratings internal stakeholders (Analytical, Commercial and Market Outreach) throughout the APAC region on their marketing initiatives. Your job is to work closely with other meeting planners (primary: Hong Kong; secondary: globally) and marketing colleagues on making S&P Ratings' events top-of-class in the financial sector.

The Location: Singapore

The Impact: S&P Ratings manages over 500 events, sponsorships and webinars each year, varying in size from 30 - 600 people and scope of ½ day to three day meetings. You will be looked to for your expertise in the meetings industry to direct client on locations, logistics, budgets, strategy, communications and creativity.

Responsibilities:
  • Meeting Specifications: All meeting logistics to include but not limited to communicating meeting needs to our vendors, registration and attendee tracking (Marketo & Cvent), on-site execution and creating on-site staff responsibilities, presentation and materials support, pre and post event evaluations, room set up and monitoring, food & beverage requirements, collecting Audio-Visual specifications, and ensuring successful execution.
  • Manage within approved event budgets and negotiate the best value for Ratings across all events
  • Run regional, and on occasion, global webinars (ON24) and provide post event summaries
  • Track, manage events calendar, pipeline and budget tracker (Serena)
  • Communication: Pre and post conference meetings with clients. All correspondence with internal and external guest speakers. Review and contribute to all communication to meeting invitees. Provide project parameters for completion of support assignments. Conduct pre-conference and post-conference meetings with hoteliers.
  • Sourcing: Meetings/events/receptions with hoteliers, food service directors, restaurants, ground operators, décor & entertainment companies, promotional items, AV & Production companies.
  • Contracts: Review & negotiate contracts for all vendors (hotel, restaurant, AV, 3rd party associations, etc.). Provide outline and explanation to host of all contractual items including any potential cancellations
  • Create event registrations and emails (Cvent & Marketo) for distribution
  • Pull attendee registration lists (SalesForce & Marketo) for invitations
  • Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health and safety obligations
  • Take charge, entrepreneurial, creative, proactive self-starter, tap into app & tech trends

Regional Focus
  • Responsible for South East Asia related webinars (Rating Actions, Commentary etc)
  • Lead and run events in South East Asia from start to finish
  • Participate and coordinate with external/internal parties for industry sponsorships
  • Project manage Asia-Pacific roadshows with other internal stakeholders (CCS, Commodities, Property etc)
  • Regular administrative duties for the event team (reporting on Serena and post event reports etc)

Qualifications:
  • Three to five years of progressive experience in meeting/event planning that exhibits you can successfully manage the Meeting Planner responsibilities listed above.
  • Bachelors/Associates degree preferred.
  • Experience working with sponsors and/or clients relationships and fulfillment required.
  • The ideal candidate has a passion for events, is highly organized, has a high sense of urgency and is very customer service oriented.
  • Travel, some overtime and weekend work is required as needed.
  • A good understanding of financial markets and business environment including implications to S&Ps analytical products and services is a plus.
  • Must be able to work effectively and collaboratively in a team oriented, global, and multi-cultural environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point. Experience with any of the following will give you an edge and is preferred. All systems will be used in some day-to-day responsibilities:

    • SalesForce
