Job Function Summary

The firm is looking to recruit an individual with management company or corporate accounting experience to assist with closing the monthly books and records, performing accounting analysis and management reporting, and assisting with the local audit and filings.  Aside from managing the books and records, the individual will assist the Asia Controller/ Deputy Asia Controller in the review of other monthly accounts, financial statements, and will be engaged in various ad-hoc management projects.

Principal Responsibilities

Responsible for preparing and reviewing month-end closing, journal entries, reconciliations, tax filings, regulatory filings and audited financial statements.
Management reporting and monthly/ quarterly/semi-annual filings.
Assist in the coordination and review of annual audit and tax filings
Work closely with various departments in various jurisdictions in relation to finance and accounting related matters
Assist in various ad-hoc management queries and projects e.g. impact of new accounting standards, transactions and new business
Work with Asia Controller/ Deputy Asia Controller to provide management and leadership to a team of analysts
Coach and mentor junior team members

Qualifications/Skills Required

About 15 years in a financial accounting role, (strong public accounting background with financial industry experience)
Excellent analytical and communication skills (both oral and written) required
Strong technical proficiency with web applications and MS Office (strong Excel skills)
Ability to multi-task as well as meet tight deadlines in a demanding environment
Strong interpersonal and client service skills
Solid analytical skills and judgment – strong attention to detail
A team player
CPA or CA qualification
Very strong accounting knowledge (US GAAP and IFRS)
