Fitch Solutions is recruiting a high-calibre graduate to join its reputable Research team in Singapore.

We are looking for a Power & Renewables Analyst , who will focus on the Asia region .

The role will be located in our Singapore office, where you will be joining the Singapore Research team. You will be the regional representative of Fitch Solutions Global Power & Infrastructure Analysis team - spread across Flitch's global offices. You will be contributing to our market intelligence service, providing analytical research for senior decision makers in multinational corporations, banks, consultancies, investment funds and government agencies.

Responsibilities include :

  • Contributing analytical research on a daily basis
  • Managing a portfolio of countries, producing analysis and reports assessing risks and opportunities, and creating 10-year forecast scenarios
  • Overseeing key sector developments and identifying actionable investment themes
  • Collaborating with country risk and other industry analysts across global offices to ensure holistic, cutting-edge analysis
  • Working alongside our Sales team and directly with our clients to communicate key views and promote our business development

You will receive extensive training in all areas of Infrastructure, Power and Renewables analysis. Fitch Solutions offers a comprehensive, hands on training programme for all new joiners in the Macro Research team. The programme consists of a combination of peer-to-peer learning, self-learning through our online learning portal and on the job training. We provide all the tools necessary to be a successful analyst and provide a hands on approach to ensuring all new starters work through this programme successfully.

Our intention is to get each new analyst proactively contributing to the team and the content created as soon as possible, and therefore we strongly believe that on the job training, with copious hands-on support, is preferable to off-site training.

Areas of focus include :

  • Data analysis and forecasting
  • Analysis surrounding the thermal and renewable power sectors at the national, regional and global level. This includes assessing regulation and policy as the backdrop of advances in technology.
  • Project analysis
  • Sector financing availability and risk
  • Assessing the impact of macro, political and other sector developments on the industry


Required Skills

We are looking for candidates with a strong academic background and a passion for the subject matter, with prior understanding of basic macroeconomic principles and a familiarity with world affairs. A trainee analyst will need to demonstrate ambition and a desire to learn and continue to develop as an analyst from day one.

Basic Requirements :
  • Minimum 3.3 GPA, or 2:1 UK equivalent degree, from a top-tier university.
  • Fluent English writing style
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with a global team
  • Genuine interest in power, renewable energy, environmental matters and world affairs.

Ideal Skills/Qualifications :
  • Previous experience (academic or professional) in analysis and research; energy policy would be particularly valued
  • Degree in economics, international relations or energy related subject matter
  • Postgraduate degree
  • Language skills
  • Prior work experience in related field (ideally private sector).
