VP / AVP, Business Analyst, Risk Management Group - Operational Risk

Business Function

Risk Management Group (RMG) is a second line function which works closely with our business partners to manage the bank's risk exposure by balancing its objective to maximise returns against an acceptable risk profile. We are responsible for the development and maintenance of risk management policies and processes and provide objective review and challenge on the activities undertaken by business and support units. This is to ensure that appropriate balance is considered in risk/return decisions. In addition, we are responsible for monitoring and reporting on key risk issues as well as providing management and relevant Board committees with an independent assessment of the various risk profiles of DBS Group on a regular basis.

The RMG-OR function enables businesses by transforming operational risk management, embedding risk culture and providing data-driven insights to manage risk in a sustainable manner.

Responsibilities

• Lead, conceptualise and execute data analytics initiatives (through machine learning, generative artificial intelligence tools) to transform operational risk management tools and processes
• Bridge the RMG-Operational Risk function and the Technology teams, understand and translate business requirements into system requirements and enhancements
• Drive discussions with stakeholders to gather user requirements and monitor status and provide updates to management
• Develop User Stories, perform User Acceptance Testing for system-related changes and resolve system production issues

Requirements

• University degree with major study in Finance, Statistics, Technology or related quantitative disciplines
• Minimum 5 years of working experience in financial institutions and/or handling system related work
• Strong communication and inter-personal skills, with ability to work with people of different levels
• Meticulous, structured and systematic individual with an eye for detail
• Self-motivated individual with positive attitude to challenge status quo and explore changes for improvement
• Analytical and able to identify/resolve system issues, with ability to holistically consider upstream and downstream impact with each change
• Resilient team player who can also perform independently with ability to multi-task
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Powerpoint); proficiency in data visualisation tools (such as QlikSense and/or Tableau) will be an advantage
• Experience with machine-learning models and familiarity with GenAI/ChatGPT will be a plus
