Reporting to the Director of Business Process Assurance, the incumbent will be responsible for leading risk-based assurance engagements across Temasek Holdings, its international offices. You will also provide advisory support to functional business units to enhance governance and internal control and be involved in continuous improvement initiatives within the internal audit function. Some travel to our international offices will be expected.
Responsibilities: - Continuously evaluate changes in the organization's risk profile and resultant impact on the risk assessment, assurance universe and plan; execute the dynamic assurance plan
- Lead and execute all phases of business assurance engagements including engagement planning, fieldwork, reporting and agreeing action plans with stakeholders
- Manage engagement team dynamics, empowering team members to be innovative and creative in delivering value adding and insightful outcomes
- Engage technology assurance team throughout all phases of integrated audits
- Assume primary responsibility for collaboration and building positive relationships with cross functional stakeholders
- Successfully deliver assurance engagements using a risk-based approach, and applying innovative and creative assurance programs/test steps leveraging data analytics and automation
- Proactively identify areas for continuous monitoring and incorporate them into relevant continuous monitoring programs
- Carry out investigations when requested
- Perform advisory engagements to strengthen the organization's governance, risk management and control environment
- Stay abreast of best practices and developments in the internal audit profession and proactively recommend improvements to the assurance process
- Ensure assurance activities comply with professional standards
- Actively collaborate with internal and external assurance providers to drive integrated assurance
- Present results of assurance engagements to Senior Management and the Audit Committee
- Effectively manage relationships with co-sourcing partners (as applicable)
Requirements: - Relevant degree in Accounting, Finance or Business or equivalent professional qualification (CPA, CA, ACCA etc)
- At least 9 years of professional experience in Assurance, with at least 2 years in a Big 4 environment
- Experience in a leading and managing teams; good team player, who proactively coaches the team
- Sound judgement on the criticality and impact of issues raised
- Strong influencing skills and ability to build and maintain trust with cross-functional stakeholders including senior management
- Proven proficiency in the use of data analytics and visualization tools (e.g. Python, SQL, and Tableau)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate observations and recommendations in a clear and concise manner
- Strong time and project management skills, consistently delivering to deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to communicates constructively and listen actively' open to appreciate divergent views
- Self-starter that enjoys collaboration with stakeholders and working in a fast-paced environment
- Technology Proficient (excel, word, Visio, ability to learn new software)
