Temasek is looking to hire a compliance professional with a focus on data privacy to join their regulatory and compliance team based in Singapore (which is part of the firm's Legal and Regulatory Department).
Responsibilities: - Provides adequate oversight to ensure the firm has an effective control environment to identify, minimize, and mitigate regulatory and compliance risk.
- Supports the periodic review and enhancements of various Reg & Compliance policies (e.g., code of conduct, restricted lists, ABAC, etc.), SOPs and guidelines.
- Provides advisory support on general Reg & Compliance matters.
- Monitors the industry landscape to stay up to date on best practices, trends, legal and regulatory compliance developments (including data privacy).
- Develops and delivers applicable training for business unit personnel.
- Serves as the primary contact and liaison for all data privacy related matters.
- Maintains and updates personal data protection policies and processes.
- Advises business units regarding compliance with data privacy laws and regulations and internal policies and processes.
- Administers the processes for receiving, documenting, handling, and deleting personal data by the organisation.
- Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders on completing Data Protection Impact Assessments, vendor risk management procedures and related processes.
- Review personal data related provisions and risks for vendor arrangements.
- Maintains and administers the process for responding to Data Subject Access Requests.
- Coordinates with relevant business units and stakeholders on personal data breaches, including impact assessment, remediation and reporting actions.
Requirements: - Degree holder from a related field, preferably with an outstanding academic record.
- At least 8 years' experience in a similar data privacy role within a compliance or legal function.
- Deep knowledge of data privacy regulations in major jurisdictions, including data handling and data classification.
- Experienced in developing policies, standards and templates for compliance with applicable data privacy laws and regulations.
- Possesses strong analytical skills, good working knowledge with data and able to think strategically.
- Possesses strong communication skills and confidence to effectively engage multiple stakeholders.
- Experience in other areas of compliance (e.g. code of conduct, financial crime, etc.) will be viewed favourably.
