We work with clients to deliver data-driven insights. We combine unrivalled external and internal data sets to solve problems for clients across sectors such as retail, consumer goods, financial services and transport, and for a wide range of business areas (including marketing, operations and compliance). Our CoE is a growing team of data scientists focusing on solving business issues, and are equipped with data science techniques, consulting skills and business acumen.

We are seeking candidates with significant advanced analytics leadership experience to lead a team of data scientists within our Advanced Analytics and Machine Learning Centre of Excellence (CoE).

This person will:

  • Work closely with Data and Analytics (DAA) leadership, other business areas and clients to align our solution catalogue to current market needs
  • Support senior leadership in development of client proposals, client conversations, marketing and client pitches
  • Work alongside the national DAA team to bring specialist advanced analytics and market insights to our clients
  • Architect the advanced analytics solutions to support our clients
  • Work with PwC colleagues to recruit and grow the team
  • Build relationships with third party data providers in cases where data enrichment will increase the value to the client and improve the value of our work for future projects
  • Act as an SME in complex project teams to ensure clients are designing good advanced analytics strategies and implementing robust best practice solutions
  • Act as a conduit between the business unit and the CoE for complex advanced analytics projects
Requirements
  • Proven years of experience of data science experience across industry
  • Professional achievements to include leading a team of data scientists and analysts
  • Proven record of delivering evidence-based recommendations that have driven business value in an area such as customer or retail analytics
  • Experience guiding clients in their use of advanced analytics
  • Experience reporting performance MI to senior leadership and demonstrating an understanding of market trends in the area of advanced analytics
  • Strategic and analytical skills; able to break down complex client problems, define hypotheses and perform each element of an advanced analytics project to meet the client's needs
  • Deep technical expertise in data science, including statistical modelling, visualisation, machine learning and/or optimisation
  • Experience leading and growing a team of data scientists and ability to coach team members
  • Record of driving the data science and consulting skills learning and development agenda within your team
  • Fluency with R or Python, SQL in a data science context as well as the latest cloud based analytics capabilities
  • Academic background in a relevant quantitative field, e.g. statistics, engineering computer science, with advanced degree (PhD / MSc) in one of these disciplines preferred.
