Your new company

Change Recruitment are currently partnered with their well-established Digital Banking client based in central Edinburgh. We're looking for an experienced cloud and operations professional with excellent knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and a passion for adopting site reliability engineering principles as the foundation for the services they deliver.

Your new role

• Leading the Cloud Operations team that is solely accountable for the cloud shared services platform and the provision of 3rd level cloud support.
• Acting as an internal site reliability engineering consultant to the team responsible for building and supporting cloud based services including supporting opportunities to increase the level of instrumentation and automation across the shared services platform.
• Work closely with Cloud Engineering Leads and Product Managers to maintain and prioritise backlogs, develop stories and acceptance criteria, to plan and estimate future sprints.
• Engage with Domain Architects, IT Risk and IT Security teams plus key suppliers to ensure the cloud services operated are secure, scalable, performant, optimised and compliant.
• Enhance continuous delivery tools chains to drive high levels of automation, test driven development approach and consistency across the cloud services.
• Capturing and sharing cloud related knowledge and experience across the Cloud Services team and broader organisation through blog posts, videos and training sessions.

What you'll need to succeed

• Enthusiasm and passion for using public cloud platforms and high levels of instrumentation and automation to help the business build new innovative services.
• Experience of leading operations teams and supporting business critical services.
• Experience of AWS and hold one or more AWS professional certifications.
• Strong knowledge of modern architectures and the tool-chains required to effectively deploy and manage cloud solutions at scale.
• Good knowledge of one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, Ruby) and continuous integration / deliver approaches and tools.
• Strong understanding and experience of agile working practices and testing methodologies including test driven development (TDD).
• Knowledge of the google site reliability engineering principals.
• Experience of large enterprise environments including testing of new digital services integrated with traditional systems of records.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage technical and business stakeholders at all levels.
• Awareness and understanding of financial services and data protection regulations and well as security good practices.
