The Tax Manager within the Citi Tax Team in Edinburgh will be responsible for ensuring that all client deliverables are met and that appropriate operational processes and controls are effective in the area.

The role within the Tax Services team is to cover all aspects of Funds' taxation including tax compliance and tax in daily pricing relating to Corporation Tax, VAT, CGT, European Investor Taxes and WHT as well as and keeping abreast of legislation changes that may affect our business and ensure these are implemented in a timely manner .

The Tax Services Team is responsible for completing and reviewing tax calculations, tax compliance and providing tax support within Citi, Edinburgh. The role will  involve dealing with internal and external tax queries and implementing new processes and procedures resulting from legislative and industry changes. Due to the nature of the work hours may vary due to business or client requirements and so a degree of flexibility is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a team.
  • Keep up to date with changes in tax legislation applicable to fund pricing.
  • Develop strong pro-active relationships.
  • Share specialist knowledge within and across teams.
  • Support team in achievement of output.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and procedures.
  • Assist with implementation of companywide initiatives.
  • Maintain the European Investor Taxes pricing model and reporting  requirements.
  • Be able to prepare and/or review:
    • Tax provisions & tax disclosures for inclusion in statutory accounts.
    • Corporation Tax Computations and Returns Form CT600, Forms CT61, VAT Returns.
    • Tax Reviews for Authorised Investment Funds.



  • Tax operations background
  • Experience managing a team
  • Background in financial services, working with Authorised Investment Funds
  • Experience and ability to work flexibly across multiple tasks and projects

  • Highly numerate and accurate
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience using Alphatax
  • Relationship building skills

  • A formal professional qualification is essential (such as CTA, CA, ACA, ACCA or HMRC qualifications)
