Job Background/context:

Citi's consumer business in the UK is composed of two businesses focusing on Consumer Wealth Management:
UK Consumer Bank (based in London; clients are UK residents) ( )
International Personal Bank EMEA (based in London & Jersey; clients are resident outside of UK and using Citi for offshore banking services) ( )

The role of Analytics Manager covers both businesses and offers a unique opportunity to work in an integrated Retail and Wealth Management business. Significant improvements to its wealth management offering has been made in recent months by investing in new platforms, launching new products and investing significantly in the sales and service offering.

Due to wide coverage of products and services offered through physical and digital channels, analytics is a fundamental requirement to make key decisions on strategy and tactical actions.

Team/Function Overview:

Decision Management is responsible for data management, analytics, MIS, sales performance management, campaign and CRM for both UK Consumer Bank and International Personal Bank.

Job Purpose:

Working closely with stakeholders across Product, Sales, Segments, Customer Experience and Business Risk teams in London and Abroad, this role includes (but not limited to), understanding key data needs of the business, extracting data from various data sources, analyse and be the analytics partner for projects and business initiatives. Analytics manager will also be responsible for conducting independent analysis and identifying areas of growth for the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide analytic support to the business teams, understand the business context, formulate and execute appropriate analytical approach to address the business situation.

  • Develop/ own comprehensive end to end solutions to address business problems. Drive innovative analytical approaches across the broader team and conceptualize and execute solutions to ambiguous problems. Independently manage end to end partner communication.

  • Work closely with regional partners across various Citi businesses globally to learn, share and implement best practices to drive data  and analytics solutions 

  • Proactively communicate to business partners project statuses and attend business calls

  • Seek synergies in activities across teams and implement value-added enhancements to the way work is executed

  • Work closely with partners across business units to deliver new recurring or one-time analytics requests

  • Individual will be expected to independently understand/clarify project requirements with business partners, gather data, conduct analysis and develop materials in Tableau/
  • PowerPoint to share with stakeholders

  • Ensure consistency of data/metrics and adhere to the data quality standards of the team

  • Improve / automate / document above processes. Participate in data initiatives to stream line processes, data enrichment and improve the data quality of the reporting process


Knowledge/Experience/Technical skills:

  • Strong Communication skills and metric driven communication to all parties

  • Extensive years of relevant work experience with extensive working knowledge in Data Analytics within Banking/ Financial Services/Consulting/Analytics industry

  • SAS,SQL, Python programming experience

  • Hands-on working with data

  • Proficient in Formulating Analytical methodology, identifying trends and patterns with data

  • Business Impact Analysis

  • Proficient with hypothesis testing Segmentation, Clustering, Decision trees

  • Proficient in Modelling (OLS, logistics)

  • Proficient in financial simulation

Tools and Platforms:

  • Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint , Tableau

  • Proficient with coding in SAS, SQL, Python

  • Familiarity with Statistical Modelling tools like R, SPSS, SAS Analytics or similar

Personal Skills:

  • Career must evident the demonstration of following skills:

  • Proven skills in handling multiple projects simultaneously

  • Excellent data handling skills

  • Strong analytical skills with ability to provide data-backed analysis.

  • Hands-On knowledge of coding in SAS and SQL Server

  • Experience of working with data in Tableau
