Technology & Information Function Overview

We have recently merged our separate technology and business intelligence teams to form a Technology & Information group, led by our first Chief Information Officer. We have invested heavily in our infrastructure and technology capability, enabling us to deliver innovative solutions and deep insight market intelligence to our clients. Through harnessing the latest tools and technology, we allow the business to work faster, more intelligently and we are uncovering more and more business opportunities as a result. We are also continuing to build a world-class product team which will help take Third Bridge to the next level, and beyond.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • As our Chief Architect, you'll be part of the Technology & Information Group Leadership Team and report directly to the CIO

  • The role takes responsibility for a new Strategy and Architecture function across all of Technology & Information Group's remit

  • This is a new function and at the start has no direct-reports

  • This role will also support the CIO in the design, implementation and adoption of an operating model for Technology & Information Group

  • The Chief Architect will:

    • Cultivate relationships with business stakeholders

    • Maintain in-depth knowledge of strategic business plans and project strategies and roadmaps

    • Lead and oversee implementation of a three-year technology strategy that is aligned with business and product roadmaps

    • Estimate solution costs for budgeting purposes

    • Design and oversee implementation of end-to-end integrated systems

    • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the Third Bridge's technologies and architectures

    • Develop and maintain current and planned state architectural blueprints

    • Develop and maintain an aspirational architectural roadmap for the enterprise

    • Provide architectural direction to Engineering and Product Management teams

    • Lead a collaborative data strategy initiative

    • Lead the design and implementation of enterprise data and metadata structures, including taxonomies

    • Create a plan to integrate systems and workflows in support of the data strategy

    • Develop and enforce best practices for master data management and integration.

    • Initiate and deliver technology evaluations and recommendations, including emerging technologies pilots like AI and RPA

    • Lead vendor solution assessments (buy, partner or build strategies), managing vendors and forming partnerships with vendors and systems integrators

    • Develop, communicate and deploy architecture governance processes

    • Develop and communicate enterprise technology standards and policies

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills in English

  • Excellent experience at stakeholder management and technology partnership

  • Proven senior leadership experience

  • 5 years of experience as a Chief Architect or CTO role in a medium to large enterprise

  • Proven experience in leading change without direct control of teams

  • Proven experience of resolving conflicts between teams

  • Proven experience of working directly with clients, including facilitating workshops, to design solutions that improve product stickiness or demonstrate innovation and value to clients

  • Proven experience of working in a multi-product or transformational environment

  • Proven experience in architecting solutions that replace and mothball legacy monolith applications

  • Proven experience of integration architecture, including SaaS solutions

  • Proven experience of AWS solutions architecture

  • Proven experience of evaluating emerging technologies, practical experience of using AI for content tagging and translation is an advantage

  • Proven experience of leading multi-year technology strategy

  • Proven experience of data strategy and architecture

  • Commercially-minded is preferred

  • Product and subscription business model experience is an advantage
