Equities Product Controller

This role is within the Equities Product Control team in London

The role is dedicated to the Jefferies EMEA Equities Product Control Division. The role will cover Equities desks such as Electronic Trading, Equity Cash, Investment Companies, Convertibles and Securities Finance. There is direct interaction with the trading desk, a range of Operation functions, such as Middle Office, Settlements and Corporate Actions. Key to the role is developing relationships with our Product Control colleagues in the Hong Kong and New York offices.
The role offers a candidate the opportunity to be involved in the day to day reporting and analysis of Equities trading activity, reporting across multiple periods and a chance to become key personnel in the various projects, which have a wide range in scope, which facilitate Jefferies growth. In addition, there will be some managerial responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities are:
Daily PL Production Oversight for Equities (Europe) including
  • Flash v Actual Analysis
  • P&L Commentaries
  • FOBO review
  • Inventory Reporting
  • T0 Reporting
Weekly Commentary analysis for Financial Reporting
Month End work including
  • Balance Sheet substantiation
  • Reconciliation of reported P&L to ledger
  • Review of and assistance in IPV process
  • Adjustment review
  • MI Front Office Presentations

Quarterly Commentary preparation for Global consolidation
Additional responsibilities
  • Active involvement in enhancements and development of process/system flows to ease automation of P&L production
  • Ad hoc management reporting
  • Assist in building out processes for new products sets


Person Specification
The following skills and experience are required for this role:
  • Qualified Accountant
  • 3+ years experience within Product Control
  • Strong Excel knowledge
  • Strong team player
  • Ability to automate and rationalise process as necessary
