About the role
The Finance Controls & Systems team in Group Finance is responsible for the design, development and Business support of TfL’s enterprise wide/corporate systems including Finance, Procurement and Treasury. We work closely with our key stakeholders to understand their needs and then manage a range of projects to meet those needs.
You’ll need to ensure that the overall performance of SAP Finance applications meets business requirements. The post holder will be responsible for challenging and educating senior finance managers and Directors across all disciplines and Business Units in the standard use of SAP ERP.
Reporting into the Head of Finance Controls & Systems you will be responsible for providing SME input into projects relating to Finance systems and support implementations and transitions into BAU. You will ensure our Finance systems use SAP standard as much as possible to enable us to leverage the future capabilities of SAP S4/Hana.
This is a senior level leadership role and is central in ensuring that TfL can deliver the Mayor’s manifesto commitment to increase value for money and improve commercial capability for the future.
You will have substantial experience as a systems specialist for Finance modules of SAP ECC6 and other Finance related Systems such as SAP BPC. You will lead on requirements gathering with the business process owners and stakeholders, analyse and present solution options that align with TfL Finance and IT strategies. Work with the Systems Owner to ensure system performance (KPI’s) are continuously improved, inputting into the systems roadmap, identifying risks and providing risk mitigations.

You’ll also be a strategic and expert business partner where market insight, finance leadership, assurance to senior business stakeholders and risk management lies at the core of your strategy.
