Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC's global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world's leading international bank.
Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts , as well as project and programme managers.
We work in small, agile DevOps teams with colleagues around the world from our offices at the Bluefin Building in Southwark, our global headquarters in Canary Wharf, and multiple other locations around the UK including Sheffield, Leeds, Barnsley and Birmingham.

Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains and with plans for continued expansion throughout 2019 and beyond, we are currently seeking a Head of Business Management to join HSBC Technology.

The Group Chief Data Office ("GCDO") looks after the Data Strategy for HSBC Group, and provides the bank with world-class data services for improving customer experience, driving business growth, and meeting regulatory expectations in the banking industry.

Successful candidates will be able to contribute to one or more of the key data domains across Data Management, Data Analytics & Science, Data on Cloud, Data Architecture, as well as Data COO & Transformation.
The purpose of the role is to deliver a managed service and be the trusted partner ensuring that the service line operates as an effective and efficient business in its own right, whilst interacting with the central Global IT business management function to ensure a high-level of service in line with group standards.
What you will be doing;

Central and service line business management across Data Services, which owns:
    • Financial forecasts and Annual Operating Plan, linked with recruitment and delivery planning
    • Operational MI & Controls; including "Getting the Basics Right" reporting which covers all KPI & OPI targets that the CIO is ultimately accountable for meeting
    • Business Continuity Planning, CRE Management and distribution lists
    • Charges and Directs cost forecast by service lines
    • Transformation benefits tracking and management


Qualifications
What you will bring to the role;

To be successful in this role you should have proven experience within the Technology sector with knowledge of the following skills:

  • Prior experience in a business management or operations function within a global financial services organisation
  • Degree educated, ideally with a financial degree specification
  • Prior experience in managing a global team, across multiple geographies, to success within a targets driven environment
  • Prior experience in delivering organisation transformation, with focus on global recruitment and financial management
