Job Description Summary

Operate as a senior level functional specialist and Lead a team of Cyber Security professionals, shaping operating models, influencing key stakeholders, strategic planning and business decision-making by providing insight, control and thought leadership across the Group.
Will have significant and in depth knowledge of the Cyber threat landscape, processes and toolsets coupled with demonstrable experience in running operational Cyber Security teams.
Is an effective communicator able to lead & influence senior stakeholders, large groups and speak at industry forums.
Responsible for the management of IT Cyber Security Strategy (including people, finance, and technology) for Group CIO, and on-going maintenance and updates to IT Cyber Security policies and procedures. The role holder will be required to work closely with stakeholders in CIO, CSO and Transformation Architecture to deliver on-going improvements and simplification to the Groups security estate.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities:

  • Setting and maintaining the IT Cyber Security Technology Strategy, including a number of specific technology strategies (e.g. Malware). Working with stakeholder across the Group to ensure the future strategy delivers value to the Group for any proposed run cost increases. This includes annual review of strategies as part of control requirements.
  • Setting and maintaining the IT Cyber Security People Strategy, working closely with the Director, IT Cyber Security and IT Cyber Security LT to ensure a consistent approach to colleague management, training and development.
  • On-going maintenance and updates to the IT Cyber Security Policies and Procedures, working closely with the IT Cyber Security Engineering and Design team to ensure policies are appropriate and implemented correctly.
  • Simplification of the IT Cyber Security tools and technology estate, working with stakeholders across the Group to deliver reduced toolset without compromising the Group's security or controls.
  • Driving reduced run costs across IT Cyber Security as enabling technologies deliver automation and simplification of the technology estate.

Additional Responsibilities:
• Embed the LBG culture and vision through visible leadership
• Build a high performing team by role modelling behaviours and developing colleagues through stretching objectives, feedback and coaching whilst demonstrating and embedding LBG Group Values

• Develop and implement medium term plans to mitigate the Cyber risk and, taking into account business needs, risk appetite and the threat landscape coupled with substantive knowledge of LBG environment, systems and vulnerabilities.
• Support the definition and development of LBG's cyber Security posture, provide high quality interpretation and continuously evaluate relevant Cyber Security systems, policies, procedures, products and services ensuring enhancements are delivered to support operational efficiency to reflect the changing needs of the business and the threat landscape.

• Provide a business consultancy service to senior management to improve Cyber Security awareness and embedding of the Cyber Security strategy.

• Contributes to and Drives the strategic Cyber Security direction of the business, support the definition of key business goals actively participating in the development of business strategy as a key member of the business unit management team

• Accountable for Function budget & headcount budget planning and target achievement.
• Accountable for supplier relationships, third party compliance and delivery of contracted services.

Experience required:
• Will have significant and demonstrable experience in running specialist Cyber Security teams.
• Is an effective communicator and all levels and is able to lead and influence senior stakeholders across the business in order to deliver and embed the Cyber Security strategy
• Engages senior stakeholders to influence and challenge key business decisions and support successful development and delivery of business objectives - attends and contributes to, in some cases owning, relevant forums and committees
• Proactively builds and maintains external and internal network to identify industry best practice, emerging threats and opportunities to increase efficiency and/ or control.
