Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the relationships across the custodial network for the business
  • Ensure our external accts are fit for purpose and are supported by the correct legal documentation
  • Review and maintain records on all our external accounts, the fee tariffs, when the fees were last renegotiated, intra-day liquidity status, all related facilities with the custodians, etc.
  • Ensure we are utilising all functionality on offer by the custodians
  • Review and close dormant accts on an annual basis
  • Complete annual due diligence on our custodian accts
  • Manage the reconciliation and accounting for the monthly billing
  • Work closely with the Head of Operations and the other senior Ops managers to understand issues with custodians and work towards resolutions where possible
  • Recommend agent changes with supporting business cases and then oversee the migration as and when required
  • Produce regular NWM status reporting
  • Work closely with Treasury to ensure their requirements are well understood and needs are meet successfully by the custodians
  • Key point of contact for firm wide colleagues (front office, logistics departments, Cross Entity / Group teams)
  • Break down Silo's, promoting departmental, Entity, and Group collaboration, demonstrating ability to operate across different cultures
  • Participate in MHI wide initiatives ( both local and global ), promoting best practice and use of systems

Key Requirements
  • Currently Operating at VP level
  • Strong track record of delivery throughout career
  • Proven ability to work with and lead teams within Operations and/or other logistics functions
  • Proven track record at operating in a cross cultural environment, either through placements, or direct/indirect management
  • Proven ability to influence and rationalise departmental cost profile whilst maintaining best in class service delivery to all clients (both internal and external to the firm)
  • Strong knowledge of all relevant regulation impacting the Industry and its impact on Operations
  • Experience of managing multiple streams of change delivery, with demonstrable benefits
  • Strong knowledge including Fixed income, Equity and Derivative products, processes and associated risks
  • Strong understanding of Asia, European and USA Securities settlement markets
  • Strong understanding of Intra-day liquidity regulations and their impacts
  • Good understanding of Tri-party
  • Knowledge of Swift, Gloss and Murex
  • Strong gasp of front to back control standards.
  • Ability to implement cultural change / key involvement in cultural change programme
  • Strong presentation and influencing skills, demonstrating ability to deliver through all levels of the corporate spectrum
