Director - API COE
The Leader of API Center 4 Enablement will act as the focal point for the vision and definition of what we need to build to execute on our API strategy, ensuring alignment of internal and external API's towards a common platform experience and a thriving developer ecosystem

Works with the corporate leadership team to develop a robust catalogue of what the platform offers, the associated systems that supports it, which can be leveraged within our products and systems and outside of the platform by internal teams, partners, customers and the developer community. Defines the platform Architecture and Engineering requirements for API services. Works with business and IT teams across the enterprise to define and gain alignment on the API capabilities needed for platform content and services in order to enhance the product & content experience and serve the needs of internal and external stakeholders; to define the standards and rules of engagement for API's; and services needed to integrate content, analytics and services into the platform.

Responsibilities
    Drive the enterprise API Architecture and Engineering strategy and establish the long term business outcomes driven goals for the API platform and Developer ecosystem Collaborate with IT and business leadership to establish the API Center for Enablement Educate and evangelize an API First culture and Product mindset across the organization Lead the design and build of APIaaS (API as a Service) capability that the enterprise can leverage to create and publish APIs with a focus on enablement, automation and self-service Define and lead the implementation of the API platform and Developer ecosystem architecture and roadmap Be an agile evangelist who ensures that Product and Technology teams effectively partner in developing products in a rapid and nimble fashion Provide thought leadership and lead extended cross-functional team including engineering, product, sales, marketing, operations, finance and legal to deliver on API product objectives Partner with the API Product team to drive product governance of APIs; look holistically to ensure reuse and develop the right API packages to drive efficient production and consumption Be responsible for the developer ecosystem strategy and developer relations program Collaborate with a team of cross-functional partners (i.e. Risk, Controls, Compliance, Legal) to ensure a strong risk and controls environment; strengthen the controls through the management of risk and control self-assessments and remediation plans In partnership with product team, define and manage Functional and Technical KPI's to ensure product and platform success from a user and commercial perspective by working with cross-functional stakeholder group Develop and manage robust SLA's and OLA's to ensure API product performance meets requirements Employ rapid prototype and other iterative methodologies to create, test and iterate on API product design Manage joint API product development and rollout with partners Provide developers with resources, testing tools, content assets and technical support for driving engagement of use of the API products Develop a best in class developer relations program based on the needs and interests of the community; drive loyalty, engagement and a differentiating experience Manage production and operations support that require detailed product knowledge to help diagnose issues Deliver communications to executives and leadership team on the API Engineering strategy and progress

Has expertise in systems analysis, design and a solid understanding of development, quality assurance and integration methodologies. A Bachelor's Degree with a science, engineering or quantitative major that requires structured problem solving7+ years of API and web services development experience (Apigee experience preferred). 3+ years of experience designing Restful APIs using API description tools such as Swagger, RAML, API Blueprint, etc. Solid understanding of SOA/REST architecture and REST maturity models. Strong knowledge of API security standards, including OAuth2. 0/OpenIDConnect. Proven experience working with an API Management platform. Strong consulting focus. Must be able to consult multiple development teams guiding them on API design best practices. Must be able to effectively and professionally communicate with customers as well as demonstrate sound judgment/reasoning skills. Strong communication, interpersonal skills, customer service skills, customer focus. Works well within tight deadlines (able to prioritize).
