Senior Multimedia Engineering Consultant
This is a position in the technology department that provides audio visual (AV), videoconferencing (VTC) and Unified Communications (UC) design, implementation, usage and support. The Multimedia Architect team is responsible for a wide range of tasks that includes implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining AV, VTC and UC technology equipment and services. Primary Responsibilities
Manage AV design and implementation projects from initiation to closure including: requirements gathering, budgeting, system design, project management, implementation coordination, vendor management, system testing, user testing, and system documentation.
Design system with a wide array of AV equipment/services including: video teleconferencing, projection systems and flat panel displays, audio systems, wired and wireless microphone systems, control systems, and collaborative technology such as SMART Boards and touch screen interfaces.
Support testing, evaluation and implementation of new technologies, including collaboration technologies, wireless presentation, and video conferencing equipment to increase service levels and reduce costs.
Set and support global standards for AV systems including: AV hardware, network interfacing, naming conventions, and usage best practices.
Prepare high quality documentation.
Review project Scope of Work (SOW) and Bill of Materials (BOM) to ensure alignment with requirements, completeness of design and adherence to standards.
Oversee AV system installations, including on-site vendor coordination, system testing and quality control.
Negotiate and monitor vendor contracts to ensure competitive pricing, standards compliance, SLA adherence, and preventative maintenance.
Manage the Multimedia equipment lifecycle and maintain accurate inventory of AV assets
Utilize Polycom infrastructure to oversee/support global VTC environment, including coordination of firmware upgrades, provisioning of endpoints, and support of utilization by business users.
Provide level 3 support on all AV systems listed above. Skills/Qualifications:
5+ years experience with Polycom Group Series units and Polycom Infrastructure including DMA, RMX, RPAD and RPRM
Comprehensive understanding of TCP/IP, including H.320, H.323 and SIP
Strong organization skills, ability to prioritize by problem sensitivity and independently work on several complex projects simultaneously
Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
Experience in the design and construction process, participating in architect and contractor meetings
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Strong computer aptitude including understanding of networking, desktops, mobile devices, AV and programming
Demonstrated ability to be adaptable in a changing environment with shifting priorities which focus on delivering outstanding service Education: Post-Secondary degree in IT related field preferred or a High School diploma with experience in IT related field.
