As a part of TIAAs Financial Solutions business, TIAA Bank, a division of TIAA, FSB, provides full-service, nationwide banking and lending services to consumer, commercial and institutional clients through a variety of channels, including online, its Florida-based financial centers and at other business offices throughout the country.
The Trust Business Supervision and Control role leads TIAA Trusts Business Supervision and Controls Group which is responsible for providing the first line of defense for TIAA Trusts business.
In designing and implementing a first line of defense for TIAA Trusts business, the responsibilities for this role include the following:
oLeading a team responsible for designing and managing a first line of defense program
o Serving as a positive agent for change
oEvaluating current and planned business practices for opportunities to implement or improve the businesses control program
oOverseeing the business units monitoring and testing program
oPartnering with leaders within Legal, Risk, Compliance and internal Audit to ensure integration of an overall control infrastructure
Working with committee chairs to drive necessary control reporting
Management is a primary focus. This individual will have a total of 10-12 direct and indirect reports. Some of the direct reports are VP level officers responsible for complex supervision functions.
This person is responsible for managing an operating expense budget of ~$2.3MM.
This role plays a critical part the trust division to implement its strategic priorities in a prudent manner. Additionally, the individual in this role has a voice in formulating strategic priorities and opportunities.
Strong business acumen and the ability to understand big picture concepts while also implementing detailed processes in support of those concepts is critical. Given the rapid of growth of the business and its various complexities, this individual must possess advanced analytical skills.
This individual would need to grasp the different segments of the business and unique risk and regulatory requirements of each.
Knowledge of TIAA and the Trust Divisions integration with the enterprise is important but can learned while in the role.
This individual will interact with Board of Directors and external regulators therefore an executive presence is required.
