Excellent understanding of data protection and Palo Altofirewall security. Experience with cloud environments is desirable. Palo Alto firewall trouble shooting,configurations and operations are the critical tasks for this role. Standardsand policies are extremely important when it comes to security, and thesecurity engineer should be aware of these, keeping abreast of changes anddefining processes for compliance. Project management experience isdesirable. Independently managingmultiple projects and initiatives simultaneously. Any of these professional certifications willelevate your application for this role: CompTIA-CSA, CEH, GISF, GSIP, GCIA, GSECand CISSP.
This Security engineer role provides the expertise andknowledge required to support Security technologies and processes related toprotecting an enterprise through firewalls and data controls. Must havethe ability to install hardware, configure firewalls for usage, setup VPNs,setup controls, manage their day-to-dayoperations, and perform regular maintenance through upgrades and patches.Ability to monitor security devices and applications for performanceproblems and provide troubleshootingsupport for clients; When issues arise, they must analyze the root cause andresolve them promptly or else escalate them as needed. Have the ability to write extensivedocumentation on procedures, device statuses, block lists, and other importanttechnical areas or create technical diagrams of the technical enviroment usingVisio to record details of troubleshooting, project controls, and operational processes. The Security engineer will design, build, andmanage the security infrastructure. Despite the strong technical focus of thejob, this security engineer will also engage with clients, relaying informationabout the project and troubleshooting all issues discovered. They areproficient in change management and disaster response, and they actively applypolicies and standards to all projects. The Security engineer may work shiftsat irregular hours to perform maintenance at unobtrusive times or resolvecritical issues as well as work with other technical engineers, DBAs, dataowners, application teams, and others in the Security stack to maintain apositive security posture. Serve as anSME for security guidance, firewall best practices, and data controls. Provide engineering, implementation andsupport for security technologies.
