We are looking for a well-rounded, fast learner with deep syndicated loan expertise who will be very hands-on in a dynamic startup environment. The Product Specialist will be eager to make a meaningful contribution towards improving the industry and be willing to wear multiple hats as necessary. This individual will play an integral role in growing Versana’s market presence and will work closely with internal teams (including executive team) and directly with customers to develop our new product.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with customers, sales, support, executive stakeholders, and development teams to translate business needs into product capabilities that appeal to our customers and help Versana achieve its business objectives
  • Document functional requirements and specifications and communicate them clearly to the design, development, and QA teams. Ensure final delivery meets ultimate customer requirement as intended
  • Gain a deep understanding of the syndicated loans landscape across both sell-side banks and buy-side investment managers. Plan and conduct analysis of business problems across the industry and proactively recommend and drive initiatives to continuously drive our product forward
  • Work closely with UX designer to develop mock-ups and prototypes and rapidly iterate based on feedback
  • Help prepare test plans and work closely with QA team to test application and ensure quality product is delivered to end customers
  • Provide polished product demonstrations as needed to both internal teams and customers/prospects. Work closely with sales team to prepare for customer meetings
  • Work closely with customer support team to provide assistance as needed by answering questions, troubleshooting issues, and escalating as necessary
  • Prepare clear and professional release notes and user documentation
  • Provide formal and informal user training
  • Define and analyze metrics and KPIs that inform the success of our products

Must Have:

  • 3-5+ years of hands-on business analysis and product development experience with a track record of execution and customer delivery
  • Knowledge of financial products and in-depth experience with syndicated lending
  • Extensive experience with the LoanIQ product
  • Willingness, flexibility, and commitment required to thrive in a dynamic startup
  • Extreme customer focus and empathy
  • Independent self-starter requiring little supervision to complete tasks and projects
  • Strong and clear writing ability
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to make decisions in face of ambiguity and adapt approaches as needed
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and effectiveness working cross functionally
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with ACBS and Wall Street Office
  • Understanding of relational databases, SQL skills a plus
  • Knowledge of process and project management
