Application Support Analyst
Managed Corporate Actions (MCA) service provides best-in-class centralized source of validated corporate action data for nearly three million equities, fixed income and structured securities, across more than 160 countries and territories.
MCA platform uses various complex business rules to produce high quality data and processed in high volume with strict SLAs for delivery of data. Application uses core technologies like Java, Oracle, ActiveMQ, Elasticsearch, Restful APIs.
We are looking for an experienced Technical Support Analyst for MCA application with proficiency in Unix and SQL. The candidate will work as part of global support team managing internal and external customers and supporting MCA platform in production and UAT.

Duties & accountabilities
•Act as first line of support for all issues relating to application and technical/support queries.
•The areas covered by this role include incident support, problem analysis, technical analysis, SQL/Shell/Python Scripting, addressing minor fixes.
•Investigate, Diagnose problems and resolve issues. Identify potential solutions for further working with engineering and operations team
•Ensure timely resolution of all assigned issues and provide regular updates
•Work with colleagues and external partners for issues that require escalation and manage the issue through to resolution.
•Produce regular reports and documentation
•Assist in building our product knowledge base to expedite issue resolution. Document and maintain procedures for all Prod Support processes
•Take an active role in developing and improving the product by adhering to internal / external SLAs, internal KPIs and improving internal processes
•Manage high severity incidents via process and work with IHS Markit Infrastructure team and Development team to resolve issues as soon as possible.
•Assistance with User Acceptance Testing as required.
•Communicate and work with clients in order to assist and resolve external customer issues.
Education and experience
- University Degree or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in issue troubleshooting, support or similar role
- Proficiency in SQL is essential
- Experience working in Unix environment
- Familiarity with following technologies (working knowledge an advantage)
- Familiarity with typical protocols like Telnet, FTP would be helpful in day-to-day role.
- Comfortable managing change to Production/Business Critical applications in high-availability environments.
- Experience working within a product/application support team
Knowledge of financial markets or financial feeds would be very useful
