Corporate Vendor Management (CVM) at Charles Schwab & Co. is responsible for implementing a firm-wide, end-to-end vendor relationship management process to maximize vendor performance and value. Corporate VM identifies, mitigates, monitors, and manages vendor risk; and assists Schwab in meeting regulatory and compliance requirements.

What you are good at

The Sr. Team Manager, Procurement Operations, reporting to the Managing Director, will lead the Contract Administration and Supplier Setup team in executing contract administration, contract analysis, contract data quality activities, supplier setup, supplier records maintenance activities, and strategic supplier experience activities. The Sr. Team Manager will effectively handle advancements and ensure policies and procedures are accurate and executed. Additionally, this Sr. Team Manager will be responsible for successful supplier enablement of implemented software solutions.

Additional responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Ensure Schwab Business Partner support activities are consistent with Schwab policies and guidelines
  • Build and execute teaming methods to enhance collaboration with Buyers, Accounts Payable, Accounting Policy, SOX Reporting, Tax, and Sourcing
  • Assist Schwab Business Partners and vendors in managing and updating contracts (work orders, agreements, amendments, and change orders)
  • Provide education cross-company regarding supplier onboarding, off-boarding, and all other vendor activities
What you have
  • 5+ years management experience and proficiency in leading a geographically-separated team
  • 5+ years of proven experience in contract administration, purchase-to-pay processes, and internal controls, in a regulated industry preferred
  • Knowledge of internal controls, financial/banking regulations required
  • Solid experience with Accounts Payable and Vendor Setup processes (i.e. 1099,W-9) preferred
  • Proven track record of building effective working relationships with internal and external business partners
  • Effective leader with the ability to influence and implement process improvement
  • Flexible and adaptable in handling/implementing change and understands how that change will affect the team, internal Business Partners and vendors
  • Work closely with Accounts Payable and the Strategic Sourcing Team to ensure accuracy of Vendor Setup actions
  • Resolves advancements with Schwab Business partners and vendors concerning discrepancies and process
  • Ability to supervise multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Possesses extensive research and data analysis skills
  • Working knowledge of Help Desk and customer support functions and tactics
  • Ensure business system data input integrity
  • Proficiency in Excel is required, and experience with Ariba, Hiperos, PeopleSoft and/or Access is strongly preferred
  • Experience with team development and mentoring is strongly preferred
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
