Citigroup is Singaporean students' favourite

Universum's survey of 1,733 university students found investment banks ranked highly, with Citigroup claiming second place for the overall ideal employer, and first place for the most favoured bank.

The top ten was dominated by banking heavyweights. JPMorgan ranked third, while Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch and Deutsche Bank ranked fifth, seventh and ninth respectively.

Interestingly, most banks on the student wish-list appear to have improved their position compared to last year, with the prize for most improved bank going to Morgan Stanley, which climbed 25 places to scoop 12th place this year, followed closely by Merrill Lynch who bounced back from 27rd place in 2005 to a comfortable 7th place this year.

Singapore's OCBC Bank was desired somewhat less, coming in at 46th place with only 3.4% of the student vote.
